We did what we wanted to do in this game. Got the starters reps together. Kept it close to simulate crunch time as best as possible.
On another note, anyone ever think how different our fate would have been had we just resigned Ish Smith back in the day instead of going after IT?

He’d be out of the league because his numbers wouldn’t get the boost from playing against us haha

Yeah I know most expect a blowout but I didn't mind the game
It was almost a preseason feel to it
Like....
we know these are the sets y'all are comfortable with so not using those much
we are sticking with specific sets tonight through options 1-4, don't break the play
So as pointed out by the Twitter post, we went to the bread n butter stuff late and to no surprise was efficient
There was couple new wrinkles I liked but would have to watch over. The ones I clearly remember were after timeouts
1.when CP3 hit DA on the short roll when usually I think DA sets a 2nd screen but he didn't and immediately diced to the basket
Caught the D off guard
2. the alley to Josh was also a set play knowing that the low man would come over CP3 waited and it almost came off
Not really fussed about anything tonight
DA doing the Gobert thing where he's bringing down the ball to gather before going up almost every time but at least after giving the D chance to foul he is capable of hitting his FTs

No. 8-0 with Kevin Durant in the lineup.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I'm glad they won the game, but why the F do you play Kevin Durant *41* minutes in a completely meaningless regular season game? I really hope Coach Monty isn't trying to keep the "undefeated with KD in the lineup" thing going. Chasing winning streaks is not what we need right now.

They’ve said as much that they wanted to ramp his conditioning up. Even if they play tonight, I don’t see them going that many minutes. All of our guys have had plenty of rest during the season. The last few games they want to get their stamina and rhythm up so they’re ready to go out the gate.

Yep ramping up minutes and it’s clear they were hoping to get end of game reps last night. They coasted through 43 minutes and we’re playing for that final 5.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 6:44 amThey’ve said as much that they wanted to ramp his conditioning up. We will have a week off after the regular season finale, everyone will be plenty rested for the playoffs, that is not something I’m worried about.

KD even commented that 40 minutes is his sweet spot and he was glad he played 41 minutes last night. I really think they're just trying to ramp the guys up going into the playoffs.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
