2023 Playoffs: Around the League Round 1 News Thread
Re: 2023 Playoffs: Around the League Round 1 News Thread
They got probably the best playoff seed as well. Get the Kings round 1 and Grizz round 2(or home court against Lakers). I’d be quite surprised if they aren’t in the WCF.

I'm not quite as sold. The Kings and Grizzlies will be tough to put out. I can definitely imagine both series' being long.

I just don’t know how the Kings defend the Warriors. Sabonis defending a pick and roll with Curry as the ball handler sounds like a nightmare for Sacramento.
And I just don’t think I’m as sold on the Grizz. I think they are a bit of a fake 2 seed. Especially without Adams. They can defend and they are a terror in transition, but if you can keep them in half court offense, they are simply not very good. GS can get turnover prone, but if they take care of the ball, the math will favor them and they’ll win.
Of course I could be completely wrong. GS has been awful on the road all year and they’ll have to win multiple games on the road against good teams to advance that far. What they get from Wiggins is big too. They need him as a defensive stopper and as someone who can create his own shot when needed.

Golden State is getting by on reputation alone these days. GS had a better winning percentage without Wiggins (25-20 according to Statmuse: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/warrio ... ggins-2023 and 19-18 with. - https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/warrio ... ggins-2023).
They won't be able to just turn it on, have been terrible on the road, and will play all playoff series without home court advantage. Sacramento is better than they are being given credit for.

The Warriors certainly have a lot to prove in the first round and are vulnerable.
My point was I didn't take them seriously at all without Wiggins and GP2, but now they're in the group of 4-5 teams in the West who could win the conference.

Scott Foster is officiating the OKC/Minny game. Seems good for the Suns chances to avoid him in Game 1.

Tele on early gotta watch some of The Twin - Cool for 'Kal to be playing at home
Both on the board fore the 1st timeout
Gotta say, I'm all for this defensive strategy of just doubling Embiid literally every time he touches the ball

Mikal is so good… we better win a title with KD
Re: 2023 Playoffs: Around the League Round 1 News Thread
Mikal and Marion are my top 2
Re: 2023 Playoffs: Around the League Round 1 News Thread
76ers winning this by getting offensive boards, turnovers, and 3s.
Re: 2023 Playoffs: Around the League Round 1 News Thread
I am rooting hard for Mikal, but it doesn't feel like Brooklyn has enough weapons to hang with Philly.
Re: 2023 Playoffs: Around the League Round 1 News Thread
Ya I picked Philly in 6, but it’s gonna be hard for Brooklyn to win a game. They really need a lead ball handler. Dinwiddie is a 3rd guard

They remind me a lot of the suns before Rubio/Paul.

Sabonis playing like dog shit. Immediately started playing incredible once they took him out. Lol
I think the kings will win in 7. I know they are the warriors and they just got Wiggins and GP back but so? They were 22-25 with Wiggins this year and GP been banged up all year. I just don’t believe In the warriors this year. Very possible in wrong cuz I’m usually am but hopefully not this time lol
Fuck the warriors.
