All Things Ayton
Re: All Things Ayton
I doubt they would do this, but they probably will have their lottery pick too. It's just another thing that I would try to pry out of their hands.

If they give us green and their lotto pick I’ll take whatever contracts they want me to

This playoff run is not over. Ask me again when it is.
In case anyone was wondering why I haven’t been posting, I’m in the middle of a big move right now, so I wasn’t even able to watch the game last night. I heard he was playing through a rib injury or something though?

Good luck with the move. Moving sucks. Are you staying in state or is it a long move?JeremyG wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 4:26 pmThis playoff run is not over. Ask me again when it is.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Re: All Things Ayton
Ayton is going to be seen as salvageable. He’s still young. Everyone knows what he can be. All anyone really wants is 2021 playoffs Ayton. Expectations are simply too high, he doesn’t know how to function in the emotional milieu of a serious team who’s love language is work ethic, competitiveness, and geeking out on basketball. It’s just not who he is. There’s no Cam Johnson or Mikal Bridges to keep things light. Ayton is a likeable dude who everyone is nice too because they know he cracks when pushed too much.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 8:42 pmNobody is trading for DAs contract, let alone giving up assets to acquire it.
Re: All Things Ayton
A team like Charlotte would jump at a chance to land a player of Ayton’s name recognition and caliber. Washington too. Those teams can’t get anyone like Ayton in free agency.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 10:14 pmAyton is going to be seen as salvageable. He’s still young. Everyone knows what he can be. Ayton is going to be seen as salvageable (by a team without options to get an actual star). He’s still young (and on a max contract). Everyone knows what he (once was before being paid). All anyone really wants is (rookie scale) Ayton.
I agree on all the other stuff.

I'm fully on board with a Porzingis swap now.Shabazz wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 10:17 pmA team like Charlotte would jump at a chance to land a player of Ayton’s name recognition and caliber. We need depth if we move Ayton.

I'm not against depth, but Avdija is the only guy in that trio whose skills can't be replicated in the free agent or buyout market.

Dejounte Murray and Capela for CP3 and Ayton. Got to get star caliber players on the cheap.

Re: All Things Ayton
I doubt the Hawks would entertain that idea without some significant sweeteners from the Suns end and there’s not much left to deal in that regard.
Capella and Hunter seems more realistic.

I think we should trade Ayton for Trae Young. There, I said it.
