Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
I can't imagine anything good happening with Kyrie. Unless you consider Monty getting fired a good thing?
I'd like to turn 1 of CP and DA into a bunch of higher end role players but who knows what's possible. Would Toronto still have interest after they traded for Poeltl? We need wingdepth and a real backup 4.

At least a few of us felt this way before the season. I'm fine with keeping Payne on the roster, but we need another point guard, probably two with Paul's likely departure. You can't rely on him. And just hoping for the best isn't a strategy. It's negligence. Same Paul.Wally_West wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 7:35 amI’m kinda want to move off Payne too but it’s not exactly like there’s better options out there.
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Why limit yourself to those two? I hear Kendal Jenner's available lolWally_West wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:04 am
My plan was to always marry Margot Robbie at the deadline, just didn’t work out. Per my conversations, time for me to try to get that part done this offseason.
Anya Taylor-Joy is also a possibility according to sources.

I'm hoping that Shamet's big game 4 performance will fool a GM or two out there. But yeah, Jones has to protect Monty from himself, but Jones also needs to be accountable for putting the franchise in the position to have a role player cost us so dearly.

Some crazier things have happened, but I don't see why their front office would gamble on Paul with Klay and Steph's championship window closing. Poole's play has been up and down, but he gives them youth, scoring ability, and he is healthy. I don't see why that kind of move would be worth it for them while also strengthening a division rival at the same time.

Would’ve preferred to just kept Jevon Carter and you could’ve drafted Herb too lol *sigh*

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Looney is immensely better value for them than Ayton, and Looney does for them exactly what they need for him to do. So they would be bringing in a player that cost more than three times as much, with probably half the motor. They punted James Wiseman away to save money, and Ayton would have the same issues there as Wiseman did. So I don't see this being a viable option. Honestly, I don't see GS really being open to any deal with the Suns; everything would seem to be a downgrade for them.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 8:49 amI’d pull Ayton for Poole if we could also get Looney in the deal.

Ya I doubt it would happen…only if they were completely out on Poole and the owner said cut costs. Which I can’t see happening.INFORMER wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:38 amSome crazier things have happened, but I don't see why their front office would gamble on Paul with Klay and Steph's championship window closing. Honestly, I do think the chances are pretty good that Dame asks to be trade to either Phoenix or Miami. Portland will then have to decide if they want Tyler Herro + picks, or DeAnre Ayton + CP3's partially guaranteed contract.Wally_West wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 9:47 amDame requests a trade to the Suns and blazers abide because of all he’s done for them and because he never ran from the grind.

Depends on how much you pay Kyrie. If it’s roughly the same as Ayton, you can just do Ayton for Kyrie. If you’re giving Kyrie more, you’d need to attach Shamet or Payne. And yes it does hard cap us and the only way to get under the hard cap is to waive and stretch PaulWally_West wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:17 amYeah, me too. I don’t like it but it is what it is.
What would a deal like that look like tho? We’d get hard capped too, no?

Man don’t give me hope like that hahaINFORMER wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:45 amHonestly, I do think the chances are pretty good that Dame asks to be trade to either Phoenix or Miami. This. But fans and GMs always think it will be different with them.
Yeah, I think Toronto took themselves out of the Ayton market when they gave up a first rounder for Poeltl. Stories are already coming out that he is a lock to resign with them.

How does Kyrie help on the defensive end though? Defense and a lack of bench production is what killed us in the playoffs. Signing Kyrie would make it harder to bring in a starting caliber centre and our bench would be full of scrubs.

I don't think the Bucks have the draft capital to get the coaches out of their situations. Unless the assumption is that Monty is getting fired.

We could actually trade for Kyrie and still use the MLE and BAE.SunsSince92 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:48 amHow does Kyrie help on the defensive end though? We could steal Bruce Brown away from Denver with the MLE. Then use the BAE to get the best big man who will take it.
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Bruce Brown would have to opt out of his contract and would then have to accept the tax-payer MLE. Why would he do that?Split T wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:50 amWe could actually trade for Kyrie and still use the MLE and BAE.SunsSince92 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 10:48 amHow does Kyrie help on the defensive end though? And wouldn't acquiring Kyrie via sign and trade hard cap the Suns?
