I had us at 90% chance we’d move on from Ayton…this probably drops it to 80% for me. I know Vogel likes size

Size king? Lol.
Yeah, dang might be 70% for me. Makes you wonder. If the NBA teams are licking their chops to think we’re discounting Ayton, this probably says ain’t happening. I think this has to go down to Book and KD and whether they believe they can play with Ayton.

I thought it was going to be Young too. Rolling my eyes at Gambo feeling the need to let us know Vogel has been his guy for the last week.

Ya I think Book is done with him and that’s why I’m still high on him leaving. That plus he’s really the only way to improve the roster(best way…don’t think CP3 gets us much)

I'm more than good with this. Veteran coach with the experience, has coached and won with stars but still a low key personality. Hope we keep Young and it works between them. It'd have been very tough to put Young in this kind of position. Vogel had Kidd as an assistant, Young should be a breeze.

It has to come down to whether Vogel can get max-level contributions from Ayton on a consistent basis. If Ayton is going to regularly have 14/8 games where he barely even scores in the second halves of games, with mediocre defense, then the Suns aren't winning a championship. It's that simple.

Hooray! Not Kevin Young and not Doc Rivers. I'm relieved.

I wonder whether the front office wants to let Vogel try to fix Ayton. He is good with big men and with defense. I mostly want Ayton gone but would be okay with trying to see if a different coaching staff can reach him.

We just better have a good plan to either turn Ayton into a max player or find a bunch of value with very little money.

Lol I love how Doc Rivers "pulled his name out of the Suns coaching search" 2 minutes before the Vogel news broke. Sure, Doc, you rejected us.

If you listened to Gambo, you would have known it would likely be Vogel, not Young:

Gambo said that according to one source in the know, Nurse is the leading candidate at the moment, followed by Vogel.

Assuming he stays, if Ayton doesn't get it with Vogel, then I don't know if he can be salvaged.

It shouldn't. It should come down to what helps the Suns win. Kobe and Shaq won championships together while hating each other.

And that's something that a new coach can easily fix.

I think Vogel was the best option out of the three finalists left. Hopefully Booker isn't too upset about it, though, especially if Young decides to leave.

That's thing: I don't think anyone hates Ayton. I think they get along with him. It isn't personal. They just don't have confidence in him as a player; they don't trust him.
