CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED?
CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED?
Figured this was thread worthy....something that's been talked about already as a possibility. No info on whether he'll be back on a lesser deal or be picked up by another team

Some other info from different accounts on Twitter

No indication they even want him to come back...hmmm.

Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
He always pooted on us in the playoffs so that worry is behind us.
Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
Hmm, wow. So it's really happening. If this is the end of his time in Phoenix, we'll have to reflect on that, but I guess I'll wait to see whether he re-signs with us first.

Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
Well we need that $7 million per year player for sure. CP3 couldn’t play in the postseason. It would he cool if he wants to sign on a minimum deal. My bet is he goes to LA.

He would still count $15 million against the cap if he signs for minimum. I am hoping they stretch himDrewsprocket wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 3:00 pmWell we need that $7 million per year player for sure. CP3 couldn’t play in the postseason. Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
If we resign for the minimum, we can use the TPMLE. If we stretch, we can use the full MLE and BAE
Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
I meant from Haynes' two tweets or any other sources following the actual decision. Either way, whether the Suns want him or not, I doubt Chris will want to come back for the minimum.

Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
This feels like a formality to him coming back on the minimum. That’s what’s all the smoke has been thus far.
If we were gonna stretch his contract, I think the wording would’ve been more clear front the jump. Just what I think.

Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
Even without stretching, we can use either most or all of the full MLE (about $12.4M).Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 3:24 pmSo that’s what $6.8 million (tax payer) and $4.3 million?

Re: CHRIS PAUL TO BE WAIVED
There’s risk here. If we’re not stretching him and he goes to the Lakers or whatever, that’s a huge miss. He may have given us a wink wink deal, but some other team may still step up with a big money offer a la Carlos Boozer. He no longer has his buddy Monty here, so that may be a factor in his decision making.
Can we decide after the fact to stretch his salary?
