I didn’t want Brogdon last summer and I still don’t. He was proving me wrong most of the season until it ended exactly like I expected it would, with him injured on the bench.

I’m looking at late 1st/early 2nd and hoping Charlotte/Orlando are willing to sell.

It’s totally because he only wants to go to Phoenix to play with Booker. #BookGravity
Or it means they have win-now deal in place that has Dame's approval. Could mean they're landing Zion, Paul George, or Pascal Siakim.
Most likely, but I’m trying to speak Dame on the suns into existence.

If the Magic take Anthony Black at 6, that could make Suggs very available.

I like Brogdon but he’s not exactly a distributor or a lock down defender… he’s ok at both but known more as a scorer first, which we don’t exactly need now with this roster, right?

Who would be your guys ideal 4th and 5th starter(within some reason, you can’t say Giannis haha)?

Doesn’t have to be someone who’s attainable..just like a prototype.

To me I’d want a rim protecting big that is either a floor stretcher or a hard roller. Brook Lopez would be great I think.

For the other spot I’d want a versatile defensive wing that has a little playmaking chops and can hit an open 3 somewhat regularly. Smart? White? Josh Hart?

Or just an absolute flame thrower from 3 that can hold their own on D…like Trey Murphy

Strong, preferably defensive leaning PG or G with good ballhandling and distribution -
Smart, Fultz, FVV, White, Melton.. you get the idea.

Stretch shooting and rim protecting C -
Reid, Lopez, Porzingis, Turner.. More flexible with this if they excel at something like perimeter defense or ball handling.

I've officially entered the "refresh twitter every minute, 75 open tabs, slum it on the RealGM boards, check out what Flex has to say" pre-draft junkie stage.

Reid and Schroeder are decent who are actually possibly attainable. If we are pushing the reality vortex a bit I would love to get a point of attack defender type who we can throw on the opposing team’s best player, so a Mikal/OG type and a Turner/Brolo type. Within those archetypes I guess there are imperfect options out there, such as Thybulle/Winslow or if we are dreaming bigger DFS or even Royce O’Neale, or bigs like … Holmes? I’m sure the Hawks think of Okongwu as untouchable but I’d love to get a guy like that.

Do you really think adding Dame to a Beal-Booker-Durant trio makes sense?

Also it’s times like these when I feel like I’m so disconnected with current player values. I get that for example John Collins’ value has dropped but he’s gotta be worth more than a 6 place bump in the draft this year? He’s not a rim protector per se but he sure fights hard on the boards. Losing his touch from the outside does suck and his contract isn’t a value one but he’s also not anywhere near the worst contract by any stretch. I’d say he’s a better contract than Bertans for instance.

Well I'm just going to talk about the 5th starter because I'm going to go back into the mode that Ayton will be a Sun (unfortunately).

Keeping Ayton of course limits our resources to complete the starting lineup, but it also is limiting because it makes it harder to find a player that fits next to those four players.

I think Kevin Love is probably the best fit out there, but I don't know if he wants to leave Miami, and I don't know if James Jones doesn't want him because Jones is a LeBron and probably sided with LeBron when LeBron was throwing Love under the bus in Cleveland.

But I think Love is one of the few free agents available at the vet minimum that could fit with Beal-Booker-Durant-Ayton.

Sure. We’re already in cap hell, no one wants Ayton, our roster is going to be built with vet min players anyways, so if you told me you could trade Ayton for one of the best point guards of all time, who is coming off one of his best seasons of his career, that would sound cool to me.

I get that but it works in my mind. Dame, Book and KD would have no problem playing together. Maybe a little complicated with Beal but they would absolutely figure out a way to make it work. 3/5 players of our starting lineup would be generational superstars with our 4 best best player being a measly multiple all-star. What a terrible problem to have. You would be able to roll 2 of them out at all times. It would be great.

This all a pipe dream tho, it’s not happening at all unless we’re talking franchise mode in 2K.

Yeah, nobody talks about having too many all-stars on Team USA. Just pretend it’s the Olympics, but it’s called the Phoenix Suns. ;)

It’s just a little overkill. It would obviously work but you wouldn’t be able to get full value out of all 4. 2 would end up being shooters in the corner every play. You could get someone much cheaper to play that role and also add depth and defense for the same price.
