I have no reason at all to pick on him, but that tiny microphone is a meme waiting to happen.

That's a normal-sized microphone. Find a new slant.

(Really, though, you're right ... is the idea to make everybody think he has enormous hands?)

Haha, you just don't realize how big these NBA players are until...

Beal had finished the first year of a supermax contract, and was about to be freed from the ever-rebuilding Wizards. Some teams were said to be scared off by the tax implications.

“It was a hard contract to move,” said the exec. “Bradley might have been stuck in Washington if it hadn’t been for the new guy in Phoenix (owner Mat Ishbia) wanting to make a splash. And he got pushed by KD (Kevin Durant) to add that third guy. Kevin was the driver in that regard. And Bradley still had to give up his no-trade clause and (15%) trade kicker to make it work.”

He did? I thought he kept the no-trade.

I think they mean he allowed the trade to happen, not that he no longer has the no trade. I’m curious about these trade kickers tho. If he’s already on a super max how does he get a kicker on top?

I heard the Bradley Beal introductory press conference. I was impressed by him.

So noob question I guess but what are some things Bradley Beal is good at? Scoring? Mid-range? Three?

What can we expect from him this year?

It looks like he has a little playmaking ability too. Anyone nervous about him being a bit undersized for a shooting guard?

Not really. He’s a three level scorer just like Book and KD. This squad is mad versatile. Book is a + defender now too. So is KD. Not too concerned about Beal’s size.

I confess that I don't know much about Beal defensively. Would we say that he's an average defender? A poor defender? Just curious how our defense is going to look with the typical Book-Beal-KD-Diop-Ayton starting five. Ayton has us covered inside, KD is a plus defender, Book has become a bit of a plus defender; what about Beal and Diop?

He’s been a poor defender recently…but maybe that’s because he was on a bad team.

Great question, many people said that Ross was dogging it on defense in Orlando because there was nothing on the line. Turns out he did it for so long, that he couldn’t flip the switch here.

The same is said about Beal…

I really think people hablve forgotten how good a healthy Beal is. Just a couple years removed from 30ppg. Always had better than average efficiency on all levels. He's such a massive upgrade from Paul offensively, and now he's the 3rd wheel, he should have his way here.
Love, Hurts.

I don’t think defense will be a problem. That’s why we hired Vogel—to get the best out of these guys defensively.

There's some truth to this. I think Vogel will play the three stars, when healthy, but is going to try to limit minutes enough that they can play with energy on both ends. And I think he'll tend to surround them with, and give bench minutes to, whoever's buying in and playing with the the most effort and intelligence defensively.

Think about it like this..

On any given night, Beal can offensively outperform Booker and make it look easy.
