I've like him for awhile. It felt like the Heat wanted to hold onto him to extract a price from someone else, but those offers dried up when they didn't even play him. I'd rather have him at the vet min than Todd.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Alright, get your guesses in, who’s the first guy we sign today? First guy we sign not on the team last year?
I’ll say Troy Brown Jr is the first player we sign.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Well, there's this from the Miami Sun:
"After playing Cody Zeller ahead of Yurtseven during the run to the NBA Finals these past two months, and having opted for Dewayne Dedmon as their reserve center of choice during last year’s run within one victory of the NBA Finals, the Heat made apparent their concerns about Yurtseven’s defensive deficiencies..."
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Suns need to claim Trendon Watford from Blazers. Just think a team with a higher priority will claim.
Would be an ideal dart through. Young, cheap contract, has TO.

I'm going for D Lee as the first guy we reach an agreement with and Kevin Love as the first player not on the team last year.

Phoenix Suns
The Suns are planning to bring back a majority of their reserve unit from last season, sources said. That includes Torrey Craig, Jock Landale, Damion Lee and Josh Okogie. Two other names for Phoenix on veteran’s minimums are former Nets and former Kevin Durant teammates Yuta Watanabe and Mike James, sources said. Another strong candidate for the Suns is former Blazers center Drew Eubanks, sources said.
Nooo...not another reporter saying Mike James!Jae Crowder is expected to return to Milwaukee after the Bucks sacrificed five second-round picks to acquire the veteran forward at the trade deadline. But Crowder also has an interest in rejoining the Miami Heat, sources said.
Bucks guard Jevon Carter will draw interest from Minnesota, Phoenix and Los Angeles, sources said.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
YES! I can't believe the Blazers waived him. Watford would be a perfect 5th starter next to the Big 3 and the part-timer.

Two names that have surfaced in recent days connected to the Lakers are Cam Reddish and Miami Heat forward, Kevin Love. Love is weighing several options on where to continue his career next season after being bought out and proving to be a key part of Miami’s Finals run. But the Lakers are considered one team, along with the Suns, to be on Love’s list, which is expected to continue to grow before he eventually signs.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Weird that they waived him... just from the eye-test from the Blazers games I caught last year, I thought he was a good ball handler and smart player. I just looked it up and saw that he shot almost 40% from 3 on just over 60 attempts. He's a solid player.
