What about a look at Kendrick Nunn?
Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
I think we need another veteran point guard. Wouldn't want to have to rely on Beal, Book and Payne heading into the season. Kendrick Nunn played under Vogel in LA? Goran, Ish Smith, Ty Jerome, George Hill is kinda cooked...

I wouldn't want Goran, he's washed and left under a cloud so can't see him wanting to come back anyway. Nunn and Smith could do a job.
Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Beal was hyping up Westbrook at his presser...

I don't like the lack of rebounding once again at the 4 spot. That's why I wanted Love.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Love got more than the minimum. Watford would be better anyways, we should get him.
As for pg, I don’t actually think we need another one. Feels like we have a lot of guards. I’d rather have more size.
Guards - Book, Beal, Payne, Goodwin, Okogie, Lee
Wings - KD, KBD, Yuta, Ish, Todd, Camara
Bigs - Ayton, Eubanks, Metu
Need someone better than Ish/Todd/Camara in that wing rotation.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
I would like another playmaking guard but I think we really need reliable scorer off the bench, Oubre would be great but I don’t know if he’d sign for the minimum just yet, which is why I think we’ll keep the last roster spot open for now.
Well see how the market plays out, maybe in a couple weeks see if we can convince a good player to come for the minimum if he didn’t get the deal he was looking for. There’s always a 2-1 Ayton trade too but that seems unlikely.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Jalen McDaniels is more interesting to me if he has to take a vet min.
Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
I can't believe how much Orland gave him. He should be a vet minimum guy at this point in his career.
Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
Yeah I really thought Ingles was one of the attainable ones on my list.

Bamba got a second contract.pickle wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:08 pmI am surprised that a top 6 pick with a bunch of promise never got to a second contract. To that end I think Ayton at least succeeded. But I also didn’t follow his situation closed enough to know about professionalism issues. What were his problems? I’d like to think that we can offer him the full backup role and have Eubanks as the third string. But I imagine someone will come in and take a shot at him for more than the minimum. I just think that we need more size and rim deterrence and generally speaking more big bodies to throw at Jokic.
I would prefer a three-headed center like Eubanks-Bamba-Bryant over Ayton. But oh well.

Yes, they do exist.TOO wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 8:35 amHow many true playmaker PGs even exist anymore? I think we're more than fine, will not be surprised if Book avg 8apg this year.Uncle_Gene wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 8:21 amSuns don't have a true playmaking point guard. Is that a concern for anyone ? I don't think it's the number of the assists that we need to be concerned about. Book/Durant/Beal will load up on assists passing out to 3-point shooters when defenses collapse on them.
What we will likely be missing is orchestration, someone set other players up in scoring position, running pick and roll and feeding guys on the move. But that may not matter because our offense might simply be one of the big 3 just going one on one, or we'll feed Ayton in the post.
