He's 78! There are 18!, 18! Point Guards in front of him. 6'1, 1901b Terry Rozier was 63rd! Terry gives up 11" and 60lbs on him...and he ranked 15 places better on FTAs.
Just...wow...
You're once again skewing reality to fit the Ayton hatin' narrative.
He was #71, and #16 among centers (and 3 of them are really PFs--Jackson Jr, Wood, and Olynyk). That's middle of the pack for starting centers--not some atrocious ranking like you make it out to be. And you act like guards don't/shouldn't get to the line as much as big men...it's actually the opposite. In those top 71, there are 16 centers and 12 PF, whereas there are 33 guards. In fact, 5 of the top 9 are point guards.
This is the ONE time I will actually jump in to defend Ayton.
There are MANY times during a game that he is most definitely fouled. It's blatant, but it stems from 2 factors. I think that Aytons size, subconsciously or not, leads to the refs swallowing their whistle towards him. The second is that Ayton himself plays PASSIVELY. I have yet to see a ref that rewards weak shots.
If he would just go INTO the defender, and not away, he would get soo many more FT's.
I accept that he isn't Amare; he could be Jokic tho. I wouldn't call Jokic overly aggressive, but he at least goes thru the defender.
Ya I think Ayton’s tendency to avoid contact on most plays does lead to refs assuming he wasn’t fouled on those 50/50 calls that they will assume a guy like Giannis or Embiid was fouled on.
Frank Vogel: Suns will involve Deandre Ayton more on offense
“I’m off to a great start with him from a relationship standpoint in terms of understanding that if we want him to defend and rebound at an All-Star level, then we’re going to have to involve him a little more in the offense. That’s just basketball 101, you learn that as a youngster,” Vogel said when he joined Sirius XM NBA Radio this week at the NBA Summer League.
“You got to give those big guys the ball sometimes. When they get it, then they’ll run through the wall for you on the other end. I think we’re off to a great start with that. He’s going to be a big part of what we do.”
“I think we do,” Vogel said. “We’re definitely more offensively talented than defensively talented on this team, there’s no doubt about that. But if the big fella plays this year the way I think he can play and really anchors our defense, I think we can have guys really scrambling around the perimeter, flying around and competing on the basketball knowing that they got that giant behind them ready to block shots, rebound and get us out on the break.”
Gambo needs to shut down his own colleague Kevin Zimmerman now, lol.
Of course, the Suns’ aggressive front office and new owner operate in a different realm than Vogel, one where projecting improvement via roster changes is the focus.
We saw the contrast when Vogel — quite genuinely — spoke at his introductory press conference about the excitement of preparing to coach a team with point guard Chris Paul on it. Paul was traded for Bradley Beal soon after.
This is nonsense. Mat Ishbia just said the other day that Frank Vogel is involved in making the decisions. And he has pushed hard to keep Ayton. And they are keeping Ayton. Period.

We are 5 minutes away from exactly 1 year since shams reported we matched the Ayton offer sheet he signed with Indy…not reporting anything (obviously), but Ayton loses his no trade clause and the restriction on trading him to Indy is basically over.
Only if we were looking to trade him. Which we're not.
I know you’re not…but you’re not the suns and you can be as confident as you want in your predictions, but you really have no clue what their intentions are. None of us do.
