Game Day - Summer League Edition: Jazz (3-0) @ Suns (1-2), Fri 7/14/23

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:30 pm AZ (7:30 pm PT / 10:30 pm ET)
Place: Cox Pavilion, Las Vegas, NV
TV: NBA TV

The Summer Suns play their final "regulation" summer game today. I believe they will then play a consolation game this weekend. They are playing a perfect 3-0 Utah Jazz team. If anybody knows who's playing for the Suns today, please pipe up. Neither Camara nor Goodwin played in the previous game but I'm hoping one or both plays today.

Go Suns!!!

Would be shocked if Goodwin played but I see no reason to hold TC out for “rest” again.

Pinder isn’t gonna play at all it seems…too bad as I was pretty intrigued by him.

Camara really goes long stretches being invisible out there. Was fun seeing Sherfield get hot for a while and bring us back. Our defense was not good tonight. That Utah big man, Samanic, is nice.

Camara needs to work on his ball handling for sure. He would lose it most times he tried to drive into traffic. He was good though once he got the ball near the hoop. His outside shot is hit and miss. I mean one three swished and the other was a total brick.

And you know Carey, that after all this time I finally just noticed where Chewy’s hand is on Princess Leia.

Jazz have a good team, felt like they were hitting every 3 in the first half. Samanic, Potter and Juzang looked good for them. I don't think we have anyone on our team as good as Samanic or Potter and that's not even including their draft pick Keyonte George. We hung tough tho and Sherfield can put points up, same as Hale but there was a lot of sloppy play. Looked like we've been using some matchup zone at times so that'll be something to maybe look for during the season under Vogel. Gabe Brown's caught my eye a few times as a rangy forward with some outside shooting but not sure he sticks. Camara was solid again but didn't shoot too well. I really like his physicality and he could see time as a backup 4 sooner than later.
