VT, let's keep it to basketball talk please.

With all the talk about DA being overpaid… who are the centers providing more or equal production for less money? How many of them are there?

Well on that list of points+rebounding production, Vucevic is the only one. And good luck with him on the defensive end.

I’d rather have Turner and WCJ. I think López is better right now, but he’s too old. Jarrett Allen is probably even for me with Ayton, so I’d take him because he’s cheaper. Capela is probably where I draw the line. I wouldn’t mind a Capela package, but I wouldn’t take just Capela. Ayton has more value than that.

Some even cheaper guys would be Valunciunas, Claxton, MitchRob, Reid, and Zubac. I think I’d stay away from Jonás because of the defense, but he’s a better rebounder and offensive player. I’d take Claxton. I’d put MitchRob and Reid in the Capela group where I’d consider them but I’d want more. Zubac is probably too beneath Ayton. I’d be fine with him as our C, but he’s got a lot less value than Ayton imo.

I've pitched a Valunciunas and wing player from NOLA for a bit but they just re-signed Herb. Trey Murphy would be a good get but he's probably their best wing shooter right now so not sure they'd go for it.
Go Suns!

It’s all relative value. Ayton is not worth the money for the role he plays, the value add he brings to this team. We could get a much cheaper replacement who doesn’t have the overall same talent, but for this team provides the same value at a fraction of the cost that could be then reallocated elsewhere.

That doesn’t show up as points because we don’t need points from his position. We need a defensive anchor who rebounds with a high motor and can finish the gimmes that will inevitably come his way due to the offensive brilliance on the perimeter.

https://heavy.com/sports/phoenix-suns/s ... T67FYVpae4
"Anew trade proposal has the Phoenix Suns parting ways with Deandre Ayton.

In a story about “one new trade idea” for each NBA team, Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report proposed that the Suns trade Ayton to the Indiana Pacers for center Myles Turner and point guard T.J. McConnell.

On July 16, the day Hughes’ story was published, the Suns traded Payne to the San Antonio Spurs, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

“Here, Phoenix gets a floor-spacing center in Turner who’ll block more shots than Ayton, plus a point guard in McConnell who might deserve to start (or even close) over incumbent Cameron Payne,” Hughes wrote. “Of their extremely limited options, the Suns could do a lot worse than Turner, McConnell and a little under $3 million in salary savings this season.”

Turner averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.3 blocks last season for the Pacers while shooting 54.8% from the field, 37.3% from beyond the arc and 78.3% from the free-throw line. He’s led the NBA in blocks per game twice.

The 27-year-old Turner will have made over $140 million in his career once his current contract ends. He signed a two-year, $58 million extension with the Pacers in January.

The Suns could start Eric Gordon, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Turner if they acquired Turner from the Pacers."
Saw this in my bookface feed and cracked up... clickbait article, funny since it's all regurgitated things that have been said.

At this point... I agree, I don't think we're making any more moves but this one would be interesting to say the least.

He talks all the time, but does he never seems to understand why people are frustrated with him. He seems blind to the fact that people crush him for not hustling or playing physical. He's got every tool in the world you could want, but it doesn't translate like you would think it should.

He is the poster boy for hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard.

If he never reaches his full potential, the majority of the Suns fanbase can blame themselves for wrecking this kid (with Monty's help). Hopefully, though, he is mentally strong enough to overcome it (with Vogel's help).

It is not the fanbase fault…I’m sure it sucks to hear that most fans are disappointed in you, but Ayton only has himself to blame. It’s on him to reach his full potential, not the fans…that’s weak.

I don't think this video is going to help him much... If he thinks our fanbase is bad, try a big market.

Of course it's on him to reach his full potential. But people (coaches, teammates, media, fans, etc.) can certainly get in the way, and can destroy a player mentally. We've seen it happen before--even in this city.

It will never be DAs fault. Now it's the fans, what's next, the ball?
