Asset-wise, good trade for Portland. But they are assembling pieces that don't really make sense together. Ayton and Williams? Scoot and Brogdon? Seems like they may be wanting to flip some of these guys for even more picks.
This is the new NBA when you rebuild you don’t think about team building. You just collect assets. We would’ve been in a much better spot ourselves had we followed that model at the start of our process. Instead we got all giddy with one year of almost making the playoffs and let that influence all our decisions.

Portland is doing it right. Keep flipping until you have have multiple picks and/or young assets. And you could even say they have their core 3 already in Ayton, Sharpe and Scoot. Plus assets to replace if one of them (probably Ayton ;)) doesn’t pan out.

Ah, sounds like they are indeed just trying to flip Brogdon:

This is just the Warriors getting out ahead of load management for Green.

Am I the only one who thinks we match up better against Milwaukee now than we did prior to the trade? Who is guarding Beal and Book on that squad? I’m a little more concerned about where Jrue lands. Not sure I buy the Bucks being the favorites to win the title.
I think my biggest concern about this team is that we basically have no PG and no (good) C. And those are two important positions. We don't really have any bigs to speak of, who will be part of the rotation. We just have a bunch of swings and wings and tweeners. I guess you can put together a good team that way, but I think in the playoffs when so many games come down to getting one bucket in the clutch or getting one stop, it'll be hard to do that with no PG to make plays and no elite C to guard the paint.
Nurkic and Eubanks will both definitely be apart of the rotation. And we were at our best in the playoffs when we took the ball out of our pg’s hands and gave it to Booker. Booker is our pg and he’s a very good one.
Yeah, we don't need a great center. Just a competent one and I think both Nurkic and Eubanks are that.

I sure am glad we’d only have to concern ourselves with just one of Milwaukee and Boston on our quest for a title. The question now is, which one is it?
Let's worry about getting through the West (anybody remember the defending champion Nuggets?) before we worry about who we might play in the Finals.

I’m kinda shocked he’ll be back in 6 weeks with torn ligaments…. Those things can be nagging if you don’t fully let them heal and may be an issue all season for him.
Couldn't happen to a nicer dude.

The Blazers now have a better center rotation than we ever had. And we get the Blazers garbage center rotation from last season. How nice.

I’ll take the downgraded C rotation in exchange for the best trio in the nba.

But we already had that! Lol. Without having to downgrade at C.

Just out of curiosity, where would all of you rank our bench/depth? I think the Lakers are perhaps the deepest team in the league, but what are some of the others and how do we fare? I did not anticipate being this excited about it, but here we are.

Man I wish there was a way to acquire Williams. He’d give us the defensive versatility we are lacking. We don’t have much to throw at Giannis or Anthony Davis as it stands right now. The only playable guy with height and foot speed we have on the roster is KD, and I don’t think sacrificing his body on the defensive end is a good strategy.

I'm happy for him. The Bucks seem to like our leftovers. Tucker, Carter, Crowder, and now Payne.

Cam Payne was good for maybe 3 months over his entire stint in Phoenix.

Yea, I never thought much of him. He's comparable to Elliot Perry and Barbosa in my opinion. Had good runs, here and there and were endeared by the fans. Payne is a good kid however his skill set can easily be replaced.

He could do well with Gianis and the PnR.

I loved Payne while he was here but unfortunately, he didn't have the best ability, availability during the end of his tenure here.

Payne would be better when Giannis rests…let him run pnr with Portis who can pop and gives Payne space to get to the rim.

Payne just doesn’t move the needle much for me. He’s a mid backup pg. I wish him well though, I liked him.

I’m just saying I don’t care. What I care about is Beal, Book, and KD.

And I don’t want to rehash the details.
