I can’t imagine they are thinking about the rules at all with this…I think if anything it would be more likely they don’t want to give Denver reps against our big 3…but we could’ve just not scheduled them. I think we’re simply opening up time to help try and solve our rotation crunch. We’ve got 14 guys who are probably expecting minutes…3-4 of those guys will be out of the rotation to start the season.
Vogel doing Pop type stuff. Not showing our hand.
What I like to think too... Pop was notorious for resting players when they'd play us in order to give us less of a look. Pretty smart coaching, just sucks as a fan
I kind of want to see Lee, Allen, Okogie, KBD, Nurk as the starters. Let's see what Lee can do with more talent around him and give KBD the start at PF. Keep EG off the bench with Yuta, we kind of know what they're giving us at this point. My initial overreaction is that KBD just isn't as refined as some of the other bench players, not really good at one thing in particular or can stand out in any way but let's give him a lot of minutes to really see what he's got.
My way too early take on KBD is that he's not great at playing a role with much better teammates and it's going to take a while for him to find a rhythm. Or maybe he never gets there at all.

He didn’t get to play with the starters at all in game 1. I’d like to see him next to them. It looked like he was trying to do too much when he did come in. We don’t need him attacking off the dribble. Defense, open catch and shoot 3s and off ball cuts.
Yeah, I think he could be one of those guys who just plays better as a starter. But I would like to see him start in a game where the big three are playing.

Agreed. Let’s give him time to figure out how he fits in. He had a rough first game. I don’t think starting him is the answer though unless he earns it over Okogie. It’s Okogie’s spot to lose.
Or just don’t play him where he might have to make plays on ball. A 2nd unit with Beal and EG would be fine for him. Hopefully we see some of that next game…obviously we won’t this one.

I would try different starters in preseason. If Okogie still looks like the best fit, then start him to begin the regular season.

So Metu is starting at PF. He can stretch the floor as a 4 but I feel like he's more of a backup 5. Just preseason tho so it's good to get a look at him.
DomiNurkic? Good stuff so far, he looks a lot better matched up against Jokic than Duren. He's missed some 3s but looks comfortable in the high post and at the 3pt line. Saben doing some good things, Okogie playing sticky defense, Metu with a good looking 3.
Suns running EG, Allen, Yuta, KBD and Eubanks. Yuta and EG with some 3s but some sloppy play overall with TOs and giving up 3s and easy baskets in transition. Allen looks off tonight, doesn't seem like he has his legs under him.
I love Yuta so much. I geek out whenever he hits a 3 or makes a play.
Okogie seems right as the 5th starter for now.
I have basically fallen in love with Grayson Allen. It feels so wrong and yet so right. He is really savvy and kind of just always gets up to stuff. I really like what he brings when he's out there.
I don't know what to make of Nurkic. He has talent, but I am not totally sure I see the "fit" yet. It's super early. Will give him more time.
