The struggling Suns meet the equally struggling Pistons coached by former Suns coach Monty Williams on Sunday afternoon. I get the impression that Book might play in this one but I don’t know for sure.

Calf strain now for Book…that’s a little more concerning

Yeah this isn’t great. He’s now aggravated injuries twice coming back too early.

It started at left toe and now it's a right calf, I blame the ugly shoes. Weird.
Love, Hurts.

Fine! I’ll get on the “I’m worried” train.
Re: Game Day: Suns (2-4) @ Pistons (2-4), Sun 11/5/23
What are you worried about?
I’m not concerned at all about the 2-4 start. Obviously I was hoping for a different start and hoping we would have an unusually healthy season, but we all knew health was going to be a big issue this year. Nothing that’s happened so far has been unexpected. I think we’re all just on edge because we haven’t seen the full team in action yet.
I guess what I’m saying is no one would be worried if we were 52-15 and then had a 2-4 stretch where Booker/Beal missed some time with minor injuries. It’s just harder when it’s the start of the season.

Sorry for being unclear; he seems to be causing other soft tissue injures playing on an injured left leg. First toe, then foot, then ankle, and now he’s harming the right leg due to compensation.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:00 amIt’s two completely different injuries3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 9:13 amYeah this isn’t great. The foot was never an actual injury…it’s the same one as the ankle, they just got clarification on what was actually hurt when they got the MRI.3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:18 amSorry for being unclear; he seems to be causing other soft tissue injures playing on an injured left leg. It’s possible he hurt the calf compensating for the ankle, but it’s also just as likely they were unrelated. He didn’t seem to be having any issues on the ankle in the game to me.

I’m not worried about the teams start, I’m worried about Devin Booker. Multiple different foot/leg injuries in a span of two weeks is concerning.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:05 amWhat are you worried about?

I’m okay with the rough start, it’s early season, it happens and I know we’ll be fine once the Big 3 are back but I’m little worried about how much of an issue this could be for Book this season.
Foot/leg injuries are really tricky, just last year he missed 20 games for coming back to early, then the same injury came back in the playoffs.
I think Beal is really close to returning but at this point I’m okay with sitting Book as long as it takes. We go as far as Book takes us this season. Hopefully by Thanksgiving, everyone is healthy but who knows? Hopefully we can keep it around .500 until everyone is healthy.

Sure, but it started with a jammed toe from practice and became something else.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:27 amThe foot was never an actual injury…it’s the same one as the ankle, they just got clarification on what was actually hurt when they got the MRI.3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:18 amSorry for being unclear; he seems to be causing other soft tissue injures playing on an injured left leg. And didn’t seem limited, but it’s hard to know. The odds of having a brand new injury unrelated to the ankle Vogel even said was irritated for yesterdays game seems less likely.

I just hope they can run offense for other guys than KD having to shoot. It’s too predictable, he has to at least be able to pass to an open man. It’s hard because he still shoots it better than his teammates which is why they need offense that creates for others. We saw Nurk work pretty well with the bench guys.

I don’t think the toe turned into an ankle injury. You can watch when he hurt the ankle in the GS game.3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:30 amSure, but it started with a jammed toe from practice and became something else.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:27 amThe foot was never an actual injury…it’s the same one as the ankle, they just got clarification on what was actually hurt when they got the MRI.3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:18 amSorry for being unclear; he seems to be causing other soft tissue injures playing on an injured left leg. Feels like it's a "if it were a playoff game, both would be playing" kinda scenario. Instead, we're 6 games into the season.
