Did you see how badly DA wanted the ball posting up Book at the end there, and they wouldn't give it to him? So typical.

Maybe he shouldn't have tried to post up 15-feet away from the ball handler with off-ball defenders waiting to knock away a pass. That was very typical of Ayton.

Umm, the paint is typically the best place to post up.

There was nothing wrong with either of his two positionings. Either ballhandler could easily have passed it to him. They didn't even have to bounce it to him, could also lob it up high where only he can get it. Ignoring him didn't work out well for them, did it?

Ayton had position at the free throw line and continued to back into Booker that made the entry pass both more difficult and easier for a defender to provide help on the pass. Malcolm Brogdon is a smart PG, he knows when to pass the ball. Ayton had tunnel vision like he often does in these situations.

You realize Book is flanking his left side and KD is right there on his right. If he lobs it, KD has enough time to get there.

That's exactly what they should want him to do--back down the defender deeper into the paint to get better position. You all criticized him for not taking advantage when he had a guard on him when he was with us, now you criticize him for doing exactly what he was supposed to do.

Only in the middle of the sequence. Then KD started running back to guard the corner three. Trying to dribble through our double team was obviously not a better decision.

He was actively moving away from Brogdon and putting himself in a more difficult position to receive the pass. There's no advantage to be had if his teammates can't reliably get him the ball. That's all I have to say about this hopelessly dumb debate.
