If you listen to that sham of an interview on KTAR or even go to BrightSide where the only thing is a article with a link to the original KPHO story with no commentary. King himself has limited his comments in the comment section to one word replies. Coro won't touch it. I'm pretty sure we can all put 2 & 2 together here.
There was something very similar involving the Pouncey Twins (I'm a huge Dolphins fan which has Mike Pouncey on it) that happened outiside a club and it turned out to be nothing more then basically a money grab, infact Mike had nothing to do with it at all and the Dolphins were silent on the whole thing until they gathered all the facts. So I don't like to jump to conclusions on issues like this....
I am actually concerned that there is almost zero local reporting on it, more so than if it was reported, and the Suns came out and said, we are not going to comment on active investigations, and we, along with the Morri, are cooperating fully.

Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
Mori, I get what you're saying, I really do. But I feel like this situation is truly bizarre. The FO has a habit of getting out in front of stuff and commenting on the record. The silence here denotes severity in my opinion. I actually hope it is all a bunch of crap and they are just misunderstood hotheads.

There's another noteworthy difference: this is more emotionally charged, with anger, than those other predictions usually are. The vague but apparently severe nature of the transgression (Sunsoholic mused that Marcus would be certainly suspended and likely jailed) combined with the fact that some of us were already sick of the twins' antics has generated anger, which is understandable, but it's also understandable that the anger is a little discomfiting to those who don't share it.Indy wrote:The only reason it is different is because we are guessing on what already happened, but don't know yet.

That's fair. Although, in my case, I would have put myself in the camp of Morrii supporters before this.Cap wrote:There's another noteworthy difference: this is more emotionally charged, with anger, than those other predictions usually are. maybe it's self defense. #standyourgroundSunsfan4life wrote:Yea...I think people need to chill on this. I don't live in AZ, So if I didn't frequent this board I would not even know the incident existed. ESPN hasn't picked it up and they live on controversy. Roto mentioned it briefly. That tells me that its probably being overblown or what we know is only a small part of the story. The guy could of came at Marcus he could of thrown a punch and the guy could of went to the hospital. They could still say he "beat him down".
Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
Yeah, when it involves something high profile. I don't think this qualifies. (not saying it did happen)Sunsfan4life wrote:ESPN hasn't picked it up and they live on controversy.
Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
If any player beat up a civillian, it would be news to ESPN. Green gets sidelined for a game and the twins play. No news anywhere has picked up this story. It was on KPHO for a brief time and then pulled? Could it be we are guilty of buying into a hoax?
I don't believe in curses or luck or religion Informer, but I believe in karma. I joke about the Gypsy lady because it's an old Suns wise tale and kind of fun. It's the same thing as the Mogollon Monster. If you have lived in AZ for any amount of time you have probably heard of him, especially if you were in the Boy Scouts.

I have heard gypsy lady. The references to her were quite frequent at azcentral back in the day.
Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
OGW I believe was the acronym used to refer to her.
Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
Yes, but have you heard of the Mogollon Monster?
AZ Boy Scouts go up the the Mogollon Rim NE of Phoenix to camp in the mountains a lot of times and tell the story of the Moggollon Monster (Big Foot) around camp fires for obvious reasons. Maybe that story died out kind of like the gold up in the Superstition Mountains buried by a prospector running from the Apache Indians story.

I'd bet any amount of money if it were a hoax Babby would have immediately said "there is no truth to that rumor." Don't you think so? Instead we got, I'm not going to comment on that matter. I don't know why we aren't getting information. The simplest explanation is that the Suns are controlling what is reported. However, the longer that goes on the more I am having problems believing that's possible. So you're telling me Markieff Morris really intimidated all those people? No one is coming forward? The police couldn't find one witness? Neither could the news?Nodack wrote:If any player beat up a civillian, it would be news to ESPN. Green gets sidelined for a game and the twins play. I guess the cat is out of the bag. Not any new info, but the story made the national media.

I hope I don't come across sounding like one of those Men's Rights assholes, but...
If the victim were a woman, this would be huge news, wouldn't it? Even if we had only vague reports and few actual details, the speculation and discussion would be on the front page of every major sports site. But when a professional athlete beats the hell out of out another man, the story is barely mentioned.
To some extent a double standard is understandable, but this seems extreme.

Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
Maybe it wasn't the MoBro's but Morris the cat from those old commercials? Think about it - cats are sort of similar shape, size etc. It would be hard to tell the difference between the MoBros and Morris especially outside when it's dark.
Generally a cat intimidating or beating up someone becomes a meme. Just saying it's possible . Don't always believe what the media tells you.

Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
Are you saying the story should be bigger news? Maybe so, but a professional athlete beating up a woman or beating up a child or a pet or a defenseless fire extinguisher is significantly more newsworthy, from a journalistic standpoint. It's less common and socially unacceptable for a man to beat up a person who is biologically much weaker than they are. Dudes beating up other dudes happens all the time. This story will pick up more traction as more details are released, I'm sure, especially if the victim's injuries were significant.Cap wrote:I hope I don't come across sounding like one of those Men's Rights assholes, but...

Re: Morris twins tied to possible assault probe
We're talking about Marcus Morris here. 6'9", 235 lbs. NBA player. You don't have to be a woman to be a lot smaller and weaker and helpless against an assault.Xylus wrote:Are you saying the story should be bigger news? I am guessing that someone took a payment, the details were exaggerated, or something. Moving on.
