Re: The GOP / RNC

As we all know Georgia is prosecuting Trump for his role in the fake electors scheme. Georgia Republican lawmakers have taken it upon themselves to rewrite the rules so that they can fire prosecutors they don’t like. In particular they are trying to fire the prosecutor prosecuting the Trump case so they can squash the case. The Georgia Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot do that.

Georgia Supreme Court ruling prevents GOP-backed commission from beginning to discipline prosecutors

Georgia’s state Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to approve rules for a new commission to discipline and remove state prosecutors, meaning the commission can’t begin operating.

Some Republicans in Georgia want the new commission to discipline or remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for winning indictments of former President Donald Trump and 18 others.

George Santos has been expelled from the US House. If you're so crooked that even half the Republicans vote you out, you know you have problems.

Santos was a fraud. They had to expell him.

Trump is even more of a fraud but he owns the party so…

More on that debate in this thread. Blue areas are just doing better than red ones by many measures:

Rudy is broke and owes millions. Forget about the settlement. He can’t even afford a lawyer.

Rudy Giuliani ordered to pay over $148 million to Georgia election workers for defamation

Sounds like Rudy is filing for bankruptcy to get out of the $148m verdict against him.

They should have made the judgement $148 trillion dollars. Either way, it wasn't going to be possible for him to pay that amount. Didn't the plaintiffs lawyer ask for $24-48 million? If you make it outside of the means of someone, you end up with them declaring bankruptcy. What choice do they have? It was laughable in it's amount. Just like the $1 billion from Alex Jones. It becomes comical, and then people don't even know the name of who actually killed those kids in Sandy Hook. They just know Alex Jone's name, and think he pulled the trigger on them.

It's weird to give such a high amount for defamation. Isn't it true that life insurance companies estimate the value of a human life at ~ $10m? If so, how can talking badly about someone be worth ten+ times as much?

I mean, I do think Rudy is guilty of defaming them and endangering them, and I think it's fine for him to have a hefty monetary penalty for it. But $148 million? That seems excessive.

Maybe since it’s such high profile people doing the lying and the threat to our Democracy is so real that they wanted to send a message that trying to overturn a presidential election by making up shit about other people and putting their lives at risk for your own personal gain has serious consequences. I’m sure Rudy doesn’t have near that amount and Trump certainly isn’t about to help him in any way. Bankruptcy seems like getting off easy. Excessive? Sort of like a serial killer getting 10 lifetime sentences. Excessive but the message is clear.

Alex Jones deserves the same thing. Making up lies about people to score points with his right wing followers to make money off their misery. These people lost their children to a gunman and Jones has his followers threatening the parents because he told his followers the whole thing was fake. Totally disgusting behavior. Does he care? Not a chance. People don’t know the killers name at Sandy Hook but they know Jones lied about it and was sued by the parents.

FOX News hosts watch Trump send his followers to the Capital. Their texts show they are freaking out over Trumps coup. They are trying to figure out how to spin the story to make Trump not look like a traitor and come up with blaming BLM and Intifada for posing as Maga.

FOX News lying about Dominion cost them $787 billion settlement.

The list goes on and on. Fake electors. Postal service scam. Extorting Ukraine. Sexual assault, Defamation, Tax fraud. Find me votes! I declassified them by thinking of them. McConnel and friends tealing Obama’s SCOTUS pick. The new SCOTUS picks telling us they won’t touch Roe VS Wade during confirmation and then promptly voting to overturn Roe VS Wade after being confirmed. Lying comes so easy for some.

Speaking of getting sued for lying.

Arizona judge: Defamation lawsuit against Kari Lake to move forward
https://azdailysun.com/news/state-and-r ... 483e8.html
Wednesday’s ruling clears the way for a trial. And given that it was Lake who made the claims that Richer says were not just false but that she knew were false, she now has to prove they are true — something she has been unable to do in any of her still-ongoing legal efforts to get any court to overturn her 2022 loss to Democrat Katie Hobbs by more than 17,000 votes.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Lake doubled down on her allegations, saying that Richer is suing me for revealing the corruption in the elections he administered.’’

“This is about taking away our First Amendment rights and interfering in the U.S. Senate race,’’ she said, a reference to her bid for the GOP nomination for that seat in 2024. “This case should have been tossed out of court.’’

Richer, in a prepared statement, said he was pleased he will get to present his case to a jury.

She has to now prove it in court or pay up.

Nicholas Fuentes Sounds like a great guy to have dinner with as long as you are a Christian. If not he wants you to be killed
https://patch.com/illinois/lagrange/la- ... christians

Nicholas Fuentes has grabbed headlines in the past. In November 2022, Fuentes and Kanye West, who stirred controversy over repeated antisemitic comments, dined with former President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

In his recent podcast, Fuentes said he was focused on "occult" elements at the highest level of societies, particularly Jewish people.

"So many of the people perpetrating the lies, the destruction of the country, they are evildoers. They are people who worship the false gods. They are people who practice magic and rituals or whatever," Fuentes said. "More than anything, those people need to be, when we take power, they need to be given the death penalty."

"These are people communicating with demons and engaging in this sort of witchcraft and stuff. These people that are suppressing the name of Christ and suppressing Christianity, they must be absolutely annihilated when we take power," said Fuentes, who was Lyons Township High School's student body president before he graduated in 2016.

"This is God's country. This is Jesus' country," Fuentes continued. "This is not the domain of atheists and devil worshippers, perfidious Jews. This is Christ's country."

In the fall, Fuentes fantasized about having African Americans killed, saying it would be "awesome."
