Game Day: Suns (19-18) @ Lakers (19-19), Thurs 1/11/24

Post by Superbone »

Time: 8:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, CA
TV: TNT

The Suns play the Lakers in LA on Thursday night. Other than Damion Lee, and I believe for the first time this season, the entire roster is available tonight. It’s also a national broadcast so let’s hope we’re not in for another night of embarrassment.

Lots of attention on the Suns. Feels like a really big game under the bright lights. I hope we don’t shrink away from it - and we somehow don’t completely suck in the 4th.

Lakers are overrated. We are at full strength and can and should beat these assholes.

As long as we’re 35-40 points up at 3/4 time, I have every confidence we can.

I honestly don't know how to call this one so I'll sit on the fence. It really depends upon which version of the Suns turns up tonight. If we get a Miami performance, I like our chances.

At least the Suns will have their top players for the first time against these Lakers. It really helped against the Clippers.

National TV, Lakers by 20.
If it's anything like our previous matchups with them this season, we lose a close one.

We aren't going to make KD try to guard AD, are we? Nurk can do that?

They start AD at the 5, so Nurk will take that. KD will need to guard LeBron though

Is Toronto's coaches rant going to sway the refs in our direction?

I hate the term "must-win," but a win here would be an important step for us. And another crushing loss would feel like a nail in the coffin. I hope the guys show up and give their best effort tonight.

I can’t escape the death imagery.

The draft is like a safety net for mismanaged teams. If you suck for a lot of years, you get a lot of high draft picks to turn things around. But we came into this season with so much confidence in our acrobatics that we sold all our safety equipment. And now we’re plummeting to the ground.

If this blows up like it potentially can, the league is going to have to step in and make sure other teams can’t do this to themselves. They will create a stricter “Ishbia Rule” to replace the Stepien Rule, and the name Ishbia will become synonymous with hubristic self-destruction.
