I hope he keeps stealing cap space from opponents.

Re: All Things Ayton
Lol mediocre as fuck stats called dominating now
Re: All Things Ayton
Insane right?
Imagine if Booker was only averaging 20 a game. He'd be called an albatross, just like our very own Bradley Beal.

Those are supermax contracts not max.

Re: All Things Ayton
I like Beal and have no reason not to so far. He’s played like 20 games.
But he is similar to Ayton in the sense that he’s probably taking up more of the cap than necesssry for someone in his role. The upside is that he could completely flip and he’s a playoff series winner like Ayton was pre-max. We’ll just have to find out this spring.

The difference is we knew he wouldn't live up to his contract with two already established superstars and he also doesn't brag about dominating the game constantly.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 1:05 pmI like Beal and have no reason not to so far. He’s played like 20 games.

All-Rookie first team. And he would have had a Conference Finals MVP if they had invented the award one year earlier (https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/th ... ys-had-it/).

Big whoop….. it’s basically conciliation for not being good enough for rookie of the year.JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:44 pmAll-Rookie first team. Re: All Things Ayton
He wouldn’t have been conference finals mvp either
Re: All Things Ayton
I guess it’s slightly possible because CP3 missed the first two games, but I still think he probably would’ve gotten it after he buried the clippers with that game 6 performance.
Re: All Things Ayton
Take it up with FiveThirtyEight. I know of no other more objective source for determining who would have won.

Re: All Things Ayton
It’s a media award…you think the media would’ve voted Ayton after that game 6 from CP3?
Re: All Things Ayton
Typically it would probably be unlikely even if CP3 hadn’t had a spectacular series until that game, but the fact that he missed two games and it’s a series award makes me think differently.
Also, it depends on the timing of the voting. A lot of his points came towards the end of the game, when most voters may have already cast their vote. In other words, they wouldn’t have known he was going to end up with a 40-point game if they had voted at the beginning of the 4th quarter, when it was already pretty much a blowout.

Re: All Things Ayton
Do they vote before the series is over? That’s weird.
Re: All Things Ayton
I can't believe this conversation about a 2+ year old award that didn't exist.
