Around the NBA: Week 17 (2/12/24 - 2/18/24)
Re: Around the NBA: Week 17 (2/12/24 - 2/18/24)
If the game is going to be played solely based on expected value, then teams should only be shooting from within 3 feet since that is obviously the highest percentage.
Hopefully the whole three-point craze can come to an end, and we can get back to playing real basketball.

I was going to respond to caps post in another thread where he points out that the Suns play departs from the modern NBA, but Split's post here kinda supports the point I want to make.
I don't believe there is any one way to win in basketball. While the current trend may favor shots at the rim and 3 pointers, at some point that trend will be countered (to some extent at least). I'm not saying I know how things will change, but eventually they will. Hypothetically, let's presume that defenses and personnel will adapt to better defend rim shots and 3-pointers. This may lead to other offensive opportunities, like, for example, mid-range shots, which defenses may now be giving up. Thus, potentially, a team that favors mid-range shots may be successful.
Ultimately, it's about being efficient and taking what the defense gives you.

Here's an idea.. Have players shoot the shots they're the most skilled at making.

PJ Tucker is washed and Bones Hyland has a track record of thinking he's much better than he really is.
The Clippers are fortunate enough to not need to rely on either of them so that was probably an easy decision for them.

Lmaooooo. Plumlee did the weakest flagrant ever on Podziemski and this guy falls to the floor pretending he was hit in the head when Plumlee only hit his arm.
Plumlee deserved the flagrant but the unnecessary flopping from Podziemski is just so fucking dumb.

Podz might break the record for how quickly I can turn on a guy within a single season. He's a really good player who is light years ahead of his peers in thinking the game.
But leading the league in charges drawn is a gigantic red flag. I can't support that.

Draymond cooked Nurk for one game. That's fine. No one would've said shit if Curry's crazy ass 3-pointer was off by an inch. But he nailed it so a lot of chicken neck MFers wanna act like Nurk is the bad guy. Fuck that.
I stand with Nurk. It's only a matter of time until Draymond shows his ass again and submarines his own team. We're already seeing the seams start to split.
