Game Day: Celtics (48-14) @ Suns (37-26), Sat 3/9/24

Post by Superbone »

Time: 6:30 pm AZ (5:30 pm PT/8:30 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: ABC

The Celtics come to town for the first of two games against the Suns in six days. We have split the season series the last five seasons. The Celtics won in Phoenix last season. The bad news is that the Celtics have lost their last two after an 11 game winning streak. The odds are not in our favor in addition to other factors. No Booker for one although there is a possibility that he could return.

If we happen to make it through the western conference, this will be our opponent and the best look we’ll get against them to see how we size up. Would be nice to see the suns put together a couple of wins against this team but without Book that may be asking too much.

This game is going to be very tough. But I guess if you were going to face the Celtics, now is as good a time as any. I wish Book would play, but only if he's feeling ready.

If we lose, I blame TOO. He didn't make his usual quick first comment after I made the thread.

Zingis out tonight. Wonder if we'll be forced to play smaller or take advantage of Nurk's size

Aw, I was looking forward to the match up and watching Nurk bully him.

This is a rough game for Saben Lee.

Doris Burke doing Celtics games shouldn't be allowed. They could call a timeout and she'd tell you how it's the greatest timeout in NBA history.

Saben can't be out there. Might have to give Okogie a look.

Eric Gordon is also having a really rough game. Just in general we are doing our usual inefficient offense while Boston seems like a much smarter and more efficient team. Beal and KD can't carry us to a win over an opponent like this.

I really don’t like when games are on ABC. I don’t want hear Malika Andrews, Kendrick Perkins or Stephen A Smith. Ever.

Or Doris Burke.

EG continues to be a useless fuck.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

He's an absolute traffic cone if his shot isn't falling, he has no value otherwise.

Completely wide off on so many open 3s. O’Neale and Grayson look like they never shot a 3 pointer before.

Just tuned in before the Suns challenged Nurkic’s foul on the rebound. I don’t k ow what the system is on the bench but that was never going to be successful - feel like they got sucked in because Nurk was upset.

I can't remember a Suns team in recent memory that's made such dumb, careless passes.

If we can keep it within striking distance going into the 4th, I think we celts will have a terrible 4th and we win.
