I don't think there's a single poster here that wants $40Million tied up in Bledsoe/Goran/IT for the next 4 years. Ugh. No thanks.

I would take $33M for Bledsoe-Dragic though.

Wow, you'd seriously be ok with giving Goran $20Mil? I mean that's money reserved for a Harden type player. Prime Amare. I just don't know.

I think we have to trade Dragic for whatever we can get. Too many teams are going to throw money at him, and the Suns won't be willing to match those offers. :-(

19M per to Bledsoe's 14M. And honestly I don't care. It's not my money and as you see, this is the NBA and every summer there will be teams trying to take advantage of you. If you are not willing to pay Dragic, blow it up and rebuild through the draft. In his case, I am not even willing to accept a regular s+t to save face.

Wow. Love Goran, but 4yrs 80mil? Thats pretty ridiculous for a 28yr old PG.

I love how theres news blowing up on Dragic this morning but its nothing we really did not know. Teams are calling the suns in hopes of acquiring Dragic, because they know he may walk for nothing this off-season. The Rockets are interested. Still nothing rumored about what Houston would offer...Which tells me the discussions haven't gotten to the point where the suns have told Houston they are willing to deal him.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

I don't want to trade Goran, but I don't want to pay him $20M either.

One sentiment I've seen on this board that I don't think is accurate is that we're looking to move Goran because he's not McDonough's "guy." If we move Goran, I don't think that will have anything to do with it. Tucker and the Morris twins weren't McDonough "guys" either, but they all got paid to stay. And we've currently got 5 McD "guys" that can't get a minute of playing time.

It is very simple. Bledsoe is McD's "guy". THAT is why we're losing Dragic.

Its very simple. No matter how the Dragic situation plays out some people who don't like Ryan will find fault in what he does.

He keeps him at the deadline and he walks in the off-season. "Shoulda traded him while you could"
He trades him at the deadline. "You just traded away our best who you coulda re-signed"
He Maxes him in the off-season "You overpaid for a late 20s PG!"

It is what it is.

If we lose Goran it's because the front office decided to resign Bledsoe to that absurd contractPERIOD

Here's an interesting question. Suppose we hadn't signed Bledsoe, that we'd let him walk this offseason. That would mean Dragic was our starting PG and primary ball-handler. His numbers would probably be higher than they are now. But he'd still be an impending unrestricted free agent. And these kinds of rumors about other teams wanting to throw money at him, they might still be swirling.

Would that situation be better than where we are right now? Would Dragic have basically been able to force us to max him out so we wouldn't lose him? Would that have been good for the team?

If Dragic gets $20, then Bledsoe at $13 is a steal, right?

I just don't get the fan base these days.

You could argue that this is rationalization here, but one way of looking at it is that we are currently paying Bledsoe + IT nearly the same sum that teams are rumored to be wanting to pay for just Dragic. Bled is $14m and IT is $8m, ish. So that's ~$22m between them. If Dragic is going to be paid $20m, would you rather pay that for just Dragic, or $22m for both IT and Bledsoe?

IT at $7m, declining going forward, btw.

But it's no contest.

I'd let LA have Dragic if they remove the protection from this years pick.

Hmmm. Maybe just an option to trade picks this year? And if we don't trade, we get the HOU pick, and future protections eliminated?

He'd probably be happier in his role here and might take less money to play for the organization that originally drafted him and signed his brother.

I was not a fan of Bledsoe's contract, but my main concern was his health and he's been fine on that end so far.

Had we not re-signed Bledsoe I'm still not ok paying Goran 20mil going forward. Maybe you are...but I'm not. Definitely could of been handled differently though...I agree.
