Yeah, I've seen that "top-heavy" criticism a bunch about this year's Suns team. I really don't get that. We have like 17 guys who all should be in NBA rotations. If anything we're too deep. I think health concerns are fair, but isn't that an issue for any team?
We are definitely top heavy, but we’re not thin on depth. I think compared to other contenders we might be a little weaker in the 4th/5th starter position, but I’d take our bench over any other contender.

Nurkic/Okogie is probably our 4/5 and I think you definitely take Denver or Boston’s 4/5:

AG/KCP
KP/White

Lopez is probably better than anyone not in our top 3, but Milwaukee doesn’t really have a 5th starter.

Lakers 4th and 5th are probably DLo and Prince? Meh. Warriors are CP3 and Klay? Another meh. Boston, Denver, and Milwaukee are the only teams that can beat us if we’re healthy, imo.
Wait what? Which 3 players do you have ahead of CP3 and Klay?

I mean I get that Klay has lost a step, but I would still probably put him ahead of Wiggins and certainly ahead of Draymond. We'll have to see how they play this season, but I might even put Paul ahead of Draymond--he's getting old too.

I haven't been paying attention. Will Paul be starting for the Warriors?

Not for me. I don’t think Klay is very good. There’s no chance he’s ahead of Wiggins. Draymond you could make an argument for because of the poor offense, but he’s so good defensively still and does play an important role as a playmaker.

I’ve never been a Klay fan and now that he’s not good on defense, his value is pretty low imo. He can get hot and carry them for a game, but he also has a lot of 2/10 games now.

He started some with Draymond out, but he also came off the bench…we’ll see I guess.

Dallas Mavericks - 43.5 - Under
Denver Nuggets - 52.5 - Over
Golden State Warriors - 47.5 - Over
Memphis Grizzlies - 45.5 - Under
Milwaukee Bucks - 54.5 - Over
Oklahoma City Thunder - 44.5 - Over
Philadelphia 76ers - 49.5 - Under
Phoenix Suns - 51.5 - Over
Sacramento Kings - 44.5 - Over

I think the Thunder will surprise this season provided they can stay relatively healthy. The 76ers are already starting the season off in disarray due to the James Harden fiasco. The Suns are perhaps the safest bet if you ask me, and it appears I’m far from being alone on that one (Suns message board or not). :D

I'm already extremely wrong on my first "lock", the Timberwolves under (they are 53-23 and #1 in the West).
I'll be correct about my second lock, Philly under (they are 41-35, on pace for 44-45 wins, unable to win more than 47).
I'm also wrong about my third lock, too, the Phoenix over (we are 45-31, on pace for 49 wins, unable to win more than 51).

As for my other O/Us:
Boston under - wrong; they are 60-16 now
Brooklyn under - right! they are 30-47 now
Charlotte under - right! they are 18-58
Cleveland over - likely wrong; they are 46-31 and would have to win out to hit the over
Memphis under - right! they are 26-50 lol
OKC over - right! they are 52-24
Washington under - right! they are 15-62

So it looks like I will be 6-4 on my O/Us, and 1-2 on my locks specifically. Oops.

I never bet real money on sports, but what I've learned from fake threads like this is that I should never ever bet on my own team. I am frequently wrong about the Suns, both over and underestimating them.

Bolded my best bets
Bucks over will be wrong
Celtics over will be right
Cavs over will likely be wrong
Pacers over will be right
76ers under will be right

Pelicans under will be wrong
Mavs under will be wrong
Blazers under will be right
Wolves over will be right
Suns over will be wrong

0-3 on my bolded(lol)
5-5 overall…so a coin flip. Good think I switched from Grizzlies over to Wolves over at the last minute or I’d have gone 4-6
