I honestly think we're waiting to see if Lue becomes available.
And in Lue of?
Then I think we just stand pat with Vogel. Though I'd love to have given Monty a shot with this team.

That's my feeling as well. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place because we probably want/need to fire Vogel but there's no one else clearly better. The longer this goes the more awkward/obvious it becomes. If Vogel were our guy, we'd say so by now. I hope we're not so obvious that If Lue doesn't become available, we just retool the assistants around Vogel and act like that was the plan.

We shouldn't Ty our hands waiting for him. Ishbia should be more Vogel about talking to coaching candidates he's interested in. No Buds about it. We need to be Redick to pounce the moment somebody comes available.

Vogel isn't a bad guy but he doesn't seem to be the type to demand excellence from his team. Maybe a second in command with that ability will help. You've heard of good cop, bad cop before, right?

Actually I don’t think I’ve heard of good cop, bad cop on NBA coaching staffs. Can you give me some examples?

I wasn't thinking of specific NBA coaching staffs. Just the general concept. Maybe we'll make NBA history! There's a first for everything, right?

I'd be happy to bring in Lue or Bud. Bud's not Greg Popovic, but I think he knows how to run a team with 7 perimeter players.

They have to fire him. Why even keep Vogel on if you're going to force him to completely replace his coaching staff, which would completely undermine and emasculate him?

What realistic moves would people make if they’re Ishbia and Jones this offseason?
Fire Vogel…

I think Ishbia has to consider firing Jones, too. I think we start hearing rumors that Jones in on the hot seat after the draft.

I have a few players who I would target to fill one spot (not my complete list of moves):

Trendon Watford— a 4/5 who is young, tough, big, has upside can defend, and put the ball on the deck, and hit an open shot. He’s not going to get a bunch of offers and we could offer him a pretty decent role taking Eubanks minutes plus some at the 4.

It might sound defeatist but I’d trade our first rounder to get Toumani back. Blazers could feel like they fleeced us and we can get back a sure thing. They’re mgt is always in chaos, they might pull the trigger.

If Kevin Love was into it, I’d sign him due to his leadership, rebounding, and desire to win.

No, he said today or tomorrow. Today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow. We'll check back in tomorrow which will then be today.

He talks absolute nonsense most of the time. He started talking up our chances towards the end of the season by saying we were built for the playoffs rather than the regular season. Another ridiculous take.

I'd fire Jones before Vogel personally. People can blame Vogel but Jones put that car crash of a roster together and hired a coach who's skillset required a weighting towards more defensive minded players.
