Michael Cohen is taking the witness stand today. It should be interesting to say the least. He was there for a lot of the bad / illegal behavior, and performed much of it himself. So he definitely has relevant and damaging knowledge. But credibility is obviously an issue with this witness, getting the jury to have a reason to trust that what he's saying is actually true and not just an attempt to hurt Trump out of revenge.

I agree that Cohen has some credibility issues. But I'm sure you know that it is very common for lower members of a criminal effort to "flip" and testify against their superiors. A person being involved in crimes does not inherently mean that all of their words and testimony are false. They are held to the same evidentiary standard as others. If Cohen says things that can be confirmed as factual, then he can still be an informative witness despite having committed some crimes himself.

I get that and I agree that underlings could flip and be credible, but there is ample evidence and the own words of those around Cohen that says he made this up. No one wanted to bring this forward, and even Bragg thought that it was bunk and didn't want to do anything.

The reason they're talking about Stormy and McDougal in such detail is to make clear what the behavior was on Trump's part, how salacious and embarrassing it was, and why he would want it covered up, such that he would misappropriate election funds to bury the stories. That -is- what he is on trial for.
