IMO the Senate Dems should go after Alito. He's a naked GOP partisan, and he's doing unethical partisan things. Throw the book at him. Investigate him. Subpoena him. Drag him before Congress, or force him to flee.

Throw the book at him? There’s no book for this situation. He can say, “Yeah, I lied, what the fuck are you gonna do about it?”, and as long as the GOP continues to back him nothing can happen.

The appearance of impartiality and credibility and respect is still valuable coin to these SCOTUS Justices. They really don't want the reputation of the Court sullied, because it reduces their clout and power. If Alito is exposed as a partisan schmuck, it will put pressure on him and others to shape up, even if it doesn't ultimately lead to his removal or resignation.

I don’t believe any Supreme Court Justice has ever been impeached. I don’t see that happening. It says they are supposed to give the appearance of impartiality. It doesn’t say they have to. It says they are supposed to be honorable. It doesn’t say they have to be. All this partisan stuff and lavish gifts certainly hurts their reputation as a non partisan entity. Their brief talking about how they will police themselves if any wrong-doing is done by and justice shows just how concerned they are with their reputation. Nobody believes they would actually police themselves though.

It feels like there is no self-awareness of your own side. You are going to have blatantly partisan actors on both sides of the court. I wouldn't exactly say that Jackson-Brown, Sotomayer or Kagan are impartial. It seems silly to cry about it.

There's a big difference between "tends to rule on cases in a more liberal / conservative way" and "openly takes millions of dollars of bribes from Republican megadoners" or "flies Trump flags at his house during an attempted coup."

You are slandering them and imagining the worse in your mind. This is only going to lead to the demise of your own psyche. I don't want you to go down that route.

I've seen people's mental state spiral down into insanity over nonsense in politics. Eventually their mental health got so bad that they took their own life.

RIP Jonathan.

You are correct. My younger step brother and an old road band mate became hooked on FOX and politics and both took their lives.

That’s what happens when you listen to people constantly feeding you rage baited bullshit. It’s extremely sad and sorry that happened to you guys. Trump said it’s going to be the worst ever if Joe Biden won in 2020 and we’d see a country over ran with crime and the economy would fall into recession…. Neither happened and we’re doing fantastic. The world won’t end again if Trump doesn’t win.

The better question should be… Why is it so hard for our political parties to find better representatives? It’s rough watching these 2 candidates.

It's ridiculous. And if you ask Trumpers right now they'll tell you the country is in the shitter and doing horribly. It's called brainwashing for a reason.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Your experience is not everyone's experience. What's so hard to understand about that? There are a lot of people struggling and yet you're all like, "Let them eat cake!", because your experience is that you're doing fantastic.

You make the bed you lie in. Not sure what’s so hard about that either. I’m disabled and I dont go out there making my problems everyone else’s. My wife is our main supporting income and has a masters in education and we are doing fine. Are we flourishing? No. But it is what it is and grateful for everything the lords done for me. My boys have been straight a students since kindergarten…. You know why? Because we put in the work and laid the foundation. My oldest is doing his first internship making $21/hour. You know why? Wasn’t Biden, wasn’t Trump….its his hard work and dedication.

Exactly. There are those that blame everybody but themselves and then there are those of us that take responsibility for our situations. As In2 is so fond of saying, it's not that hard to understand.

Every job I had previously before I was disabled I busted my butt and got promoted. Also, Arizona has been in the bottom 45-50th for educators pay for about the last 20 years but you know what? We made it work and again are doing just fine.

I think the better question is…. What is it exactly in2 thinks Trump going to do for him?

He'll unleash hatred toward immigrants, LGBT people, and other minorities, which will make In2 and other Republicans feel better. Thus the country and economy will "feel" better to them.
