Don’t you mean, “Lawfare!”?

Nope. We don’t whine about Democrats being prosecuted, as long as they get their due process. Trump got his due process through charging and conviction, and will continue to get his due process through sentencing and appeals. Politicians have the same protection we all have, due process.
This is so tone deaf of a post. You guys certainly whine when you think a judge is partisan and accuse them of being corrupt. If the Dems were tried in some hyper partisan court where the Judge and jury were so stacked in favor against them, I know without a doubt in my mind you would be whining about the excessive fine and/or sentence. And, rightfully so. Give me a break with everyone's virtue signaling
Name one time you’ve seen Dems lose their shit like this over a criminal conviction of a Democratic pol.

Even in the case of Bush v. Gore, a nakedly corrupt decision against the Dems, the Dems ultimately accepted the authority of the court. There were no fake Electors, no violence on January 6, and no promise of revenge against their enemies.

There have been many a Dem that's claimed fraud for years, although I'm not going to say it's exactly the same. "Alternative Electors" has been used many times by Dems over the years. We've talked about this before.

Now, if you don't think what Biden has done, by weaponizing the DOJ, the BAR, the State AGs, and FBI around the country against any whistleblower or Conservative is Totalitarian BS, then the best we have is to agree to disagree on this subject.

I will agree that democracy is shutting down Maga’s anti-democracy crusade quite well.

Or, it's entirely about democracy and the Constitution, and has nothing to do with anti-democracy.

The Constitution doesn’t say anywhere in it about trying to overturn an election if you don’t like the results. It doesn’t say to trash all US institutions all the time and praise your enemies. Maybe you guys love the Constitution and Democracy and just like to show it by attacking it 24/7.

There are components available to challenge electors, available to Congress, to send back electors to the States to investigate them when problems are brought up. No one was saying to "overturn an election", those are your words to build a narrative. No one is saying to do something that's not Constitutional or "attacking Democracy", that's nonsense wording used by the left.

I rest easy knowing that nobody is going to defend 1/6 historically speaking. The idea that 1/6 was no big deal, or was okay, or was not an attempted insurrection / overthrow of an election, won't be how history remembers it.

Senator Fetterman and his wife have been hospitalized after a car crash. Sounds like they'll be fine?

Always the trend setter. I like the new fit, Fett.

Mori, what do you think about your former employer and them dismantling their censorship business?

They are researching election integrity and not saying what we want them to say? Well let’s use the power of the US government and shut them down.

The shutdown comes amid a sustained and increasingly successful campaign among Republicans to discredit research institutions and discourage academics from investigating political speech and influence campaigns.

Republican House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and his Orwellian “Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government” have subpoenaed documents at Stanford and other universities, selectively leaked fragments of them to friendly conservative outlets, and misrepresented their contents in public statements.

And in an actual weaponization of government, Jordan’s committee has included students — both undergraduates and graduates — in its subpoena requests, publishing their names and putting them at risk of threats or worse.

No one?

What is the purpose of posting the names of people you are attacking online?

I'm sure there are some people, like anything. I haven't seen their names posted online. Have you?

Jim Jordan’s crew published the names. It says that in the article you posted. They published them why? So they would be attacked. There is no other reason.

I think it also said they were to be subpoenaed.

Oh, well then if they might be subpoenaed you might as well give out their address and phone number.

Mori, what do you think about your former employer and them dismantling their censorship business?
I had never heard of the Stanford Internet Observatory. It sounds like their mission was to help identify misinformation on the internet. There is a lot of that. It might have been a helpful mission. I don't know whether they were helping make the internet better or not, so I am not sure how to react to the news that they are shutting down.

It concerns me that the people working there were being personally targeted for harassment and threats. This article makes it sound like Republicans and MAGAs basically intimidated them into shutting down by threats of violence. Are you happy or proud about this, In2?

I am curious, what exactly did this Stanford group "censor"? It sounds like they just did studies? Did they have some sort of power to remove things from the internet?
But in the past year, the work of researchers at SIO and other institutions studying viral falsehoods and their impact on democracy have become the focus of scrutiny by Republicans in the courts and in Congress, who allege their work amounts to censorship.

The Election Integrity Partnership, a joint project SIO ran with the University of Washington to track false and misleading information about the 2020 and 2022 elections, became the focus of conspiracy theories that it was a front for the government to suppress speech it didn't like. (The EIP's website was updated in recent weeks to say it "will not be working on the 2024 or future elections.")

As a result, researchers at Stanford, UW, and other institutions have been hit with lawsuits, flooded with subpoenas and document requests, and subjected to online harassment and attacks.
