With Okogie gone, perhaps Nassir Little can prove his worth...
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

On less than 2 attempts.Split T wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 10:11 amHe’s shot 40% from 3 over the last 2 years with Utah…he’s not hitting pull-up 3s, but he’s not Josh Okogie. I think you’re remembering Kris Dunn from years ago…he’s easily an nba player with Utah..I’m worried someone will give him more than the vet min.specialsauce wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 9:52 amChill on home run. Dude can't shoot and is barely an nba player. We can't have a bench full of guys that can't shoot.
Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News
We don’t need him to be a high volume shooter. Point is he can make the 2 he takes

Taking a long time to get this O’Neale extension done, huh?

O'Neale has apparently agreed to a 4-year, $44 million contract.

I don't think they can take back the whole amount since they resigned him while being over the second apron. If I remember correctly they can only take back up to what his previous salary was.

I hate all these new rules, thanks a lot CJ McCollum, you ruined it for everyone.
Love, Hurts.

We can trade him for up to whatever his new salary is I believe. Haven’t heard anything about restricting to previous salaries.

The Suns will basically have three roster spots open now for minimum salary contracts (Bol Bol is still a possibility for one of those positions, so is Josh Okogie).

Royce O'Neale SF/PF

Nassir Little SF/SG
Ryan Dunn PF/SF

4 if we don’t bring back Josh or Bol…I’ll guess we get 1 of them, so 3 spots…I’d look at dumping Roddy to create another spot.

Roddy's on the books for $2.8 million next year, so I could see them eating that if they see someone they'd rather sign.

And it's not just the non-shooters issue. How many players 6'6" do we need? And currently our army of smalls doesn't have a single point guard.
And I know James Jones 1) loves small shooting guards, 2) doesn't value rebounding 3) isn't a big fan of power forwards with size. But I was hoping that the fact the Suns actually took the draft seriously was an indication that the new faces in the front office were going to minimize Jones's buffoonery.

But in today's NBA, it isn't an either/or. Plenty of two-way players in the draft and in the league. The Suns have just been terrible at roster construction since 2021, that they have made it virtually impossible to get these players.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 10:35 amI know teams need shooters, but I really felt the pain of our lack of defense last year. I want a few more guys who are lockdown defenders. I want a guy like Okogie and a guy like Dunn to throw at the other team's best guard and wing. You don't play them together (except maybe situationally) but they are weapons for Bud to use.
Bruce Brown is a perfect example. He is currently available, but the Suns can't get him because they thought a Point Book-Beal pairing would be awesome.
Atlanta had to dump AJ Griffin for cost savings for a 2nd round pick. That's highway robbery; when the Suns were looking to trade Crowder, people said Atlanta would never part with such valuable young prospect. (Atlanta is having a bad offseason by the way).
Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News
Jalen Bridges does seem like a James Jones clone…we do need some wing size and a pg…I think we’ll see both of those addressed in free agency. Bridges and Dunn are both 6’8(with shoes) and Oso is 6’11, so we have added size in the draft.

I think Budenholzer can probably get something out of him.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 12:26 pmWith Okogie gone, perhaps Nassir Little can prove his worth...
