Haven’t seen them yet…all they had was the vet min though unless it’s a S&T…my guess is that it’s a S&T and he got more than a min

Re: 2024 NBA Free Agency
Is there? He might start next to Harden..but they could also start Mann…he’d share the bench minutes with Norman Powell…I think it was a similar situation…Bones Hyland still there too, unless he’s the player they send Utah in a S&T

Re: 2024 NBA Free Agency
He's clearly their 4th guard. I don't count Bones, he sucks.
He'd be 4th/5th here depending on how they play lineups with Royce.

Fair, I was counting Royce at the 3, but he might play the 2 at times…I still am curious to see the money because I feel like it’s going to be more than the min.
Re: 2024 NBA Free Agency
Sigh. Good thing I never had hope going into this offseason.
Re: 2024 NBA Free Agency
Mo Bamba to the Clippers. They seem to be loading up on EVERY OTHER free agent as a way of compensating for losing Paul George.

Dunn/Batum/Bamba was my dream offseason and Clippers did that…plus DJJ

I sense some anger and frustration in this. I hope you are doing alright Inf.INFORMER wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 6:57 amFlagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 10:55 pm3 teams and none of them have managed to get him to consistently play hard or develop a skill. At least, that's my analysis.I don't understand these takes. He rebounds and blocks shots. His last two years in Orlando he shot 38% and 39% from on over 2 attempts per game, and that's not "particularly successful"?!pickle wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 11:01 pmHe has all the tools... so motor is the issue? I think he has something like a 7'8 or 7'9 wingspan... and he shoots threes willingly if not particularly successfully.
Oh well, no thanks then, even if he's a Bartelstein agent. Guess we don't want another big guy who thinks he should play the 4.
The complaints in Philly were he commits bad fouls and gets lost on defense.
The Suns seem determined to have their centers play a role in facilitating the offense, which is one of the reasons why I think they brought in Plumlee (who I like). If that's the case, Bamba probably wouldn't work here. But I would love have a long center on a minimum contract who rebounds, blocks shots, and stretches the floor. Keep his role to those things and he'd be fine.
As I originally posted, I come not from a position of giving "takes", I come asking those more informed to help me better understand Bamba's status in the league. He has all the tools, came into the league with a lot of hype, and hasn't lived up to it. Yes he shoots a decent percentage, but I am not aware of him being on scouting reports as someone you don't want to leave open, thus the "not particularly successfully" comment.

Ok, Yoda.

No anger or frustration. My apologies for coming across that way. I meant what I wrote without any hidden meaning; I don't understand the commentary here. Your clarification about scouting reports still doesn't really make sense to me. He is a 7-footer that can hit 3s. I don't think it needs to be more complicated than that, especially when he is playing on a minimum deal. He doesn't need to be Reggie Miller.

Re: 2024 NBA Free Agency
I wanted Bamba because he is a 7 footer that can hit 3s…I’ve definitely wondered though why he can’t seem to stick anywhere or get more than a vet min contract…what else is he doing(or not doing)? I have not watched him at all, so I really don’t know.

Bamba is Bol Bol without the driving and close up game. Maybe a tiny bit stronger, but not much.
Re: 2024 NBA Free Agency
Donovan Mitchell is re-signing with the Cavs. Kind of surprised; he seemed grumpy last season.
Re: 2024 Free Agency
I didn’t want to write a whole bunch on this but I guess I should have. I felt like you were quite worked up with your response coz of the ?!, I wasn’t trying to read any hidden meaning.INFORMER wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 4:28 amOk, Yoda.![]()

As for an explanation for myself I guess it gets a bit lost without the benefit of a proper timeline, and me posting only one liners certainly didn’t help.
When I posted my original question which FF responded to, Bamba hadn’t signed anywhere yet. I was intrigued by his potential on paper but wasn’t sure if he’s someone worth going after, pretty much the exact same sentiment that Split just posted. So I asked on the board why he isn’t more sought after — if we are talking undertones, it is precisely because I had the vague notion that he’s a 7 footer with a massive wingspan who shot threes that I wondered why there was not more buzz over him.
In terms of how I think of him as a shooter, I have to be very clear, I hadn’t watched any of his games. He may average a decent percentage from the three point line but I guess I wasn’t ready to judge him on box score numbers alone. After all Eubanks shot 38% in Portland before he came to us (admittedly on lower volume). And therefore, I posed the question, what are his perceived flaws that make him not a hot free agent target.
I had no real intentions of trashing him or his new minimum deal. In fact I was rather hoping we signed him to that deal but wasn’t sure if that would’ve been a good thing or not given the relative lack of noise over him. In fact KOC and Vernon kind of make fun of him on their podcast and I genuinely wondered why.
Hope this makes a little more sense.

Para signar Mo Bamba se necisita una poca de cap room.
