Yeah, that's it exactly. My 85-year-old mom doesn't want to see any of it. She doesn't want to see Biden in that state. We were watching one of her favorite shows yesterday, CBS News Sunday Morning, and she made me fast forward through the debate content where they showed Biden stammering and unable to finish his thoughts. It was too painful for her to watch.

They did have an interesting section on aging later in the program though. One of the quotes was something like, "If you've seen one 80-year-old, you've seen one 80-year-old." Everybody ages differently. There are very sharp 94-year-olds out there. Norman Lear was amazingly sharp to the end in his 100s. Mel Brooks is another example.

Yep, and his partner Charlie Munger who left us recently. All these people are my role models. I always said I wanted to live to 100.

Yeah, it wasn't just one bad debate. It was a window into a diminished man, a man who probably isn't up to the world's most demanding and important job. You can't chalk it up to just being sick or tired or medicated or whatever. These things slide and get progressively worse until the person can't function. The country is too important to leave in the hands of somebody who can't do the job. I think Joe has mostly been a good President, actually, but I think it's his time to step aside.

It was too painful for me to watch too. I made it half way through and had to turn it off. Biden in la la land and Trump is serial lying land.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

No talk about Biden's serial lying during the debate? Typical.

You are one to talk with your candidate who will go down as the biggest liar of all-time.

I think I've come around to the point where I believe the least bad choice for the Dems would be for Kamala to step in as the candidate. This thread makes the optimistic case for it pretty well.

RIP the Dems, if this is what you are pinning your hopes on.

I mean, you're not wrong. The Dems look pretty fucked in 2024. I would readily agree at this point that we don't seem to have any great options, and that it seems most likely at this point that Trump and the GOP will win / do well in the coming November election.

This is par for the course with both Obama and Biden. But, Trump is going to be a dictator? What a freak'n joke.

It does put the corporate media in the spotlight as having carried his water for years on this matter, and constantly running cover for his behavior. How can you trust them to tell you the truth? The are basically Dem operatives.
