Trying to figure out the minutes if this is our team…assuming everyone is fully healthy:

Book - 34
Beal - 34
Royce - 24
KD - 34
Nurk - 24

Morris - 18
Allen - 26
Dunn - 12
Bol - 18
Plumlee - 16

I'd like a more reliable forward than Bol.

That's the key and if I'm a betting man, I'm betting they'll play even less games together next season. Time is NOT on our side. We need that training staff that was able to keep Grant Hill and Nash going into those latter years. We need that Joe Proski magic.

Barring injuries, I figure at playoff time you go -

F - Durant (38)/Allen (32)/O'Neal (26)
C - Nurkic (28)/Plumlee (18)
G - Booker (38)/Beal (36)/Morris (22)

If they have someone else they can trust in the postseason (be it Dunn, Bol or someone else), it would no doubt cut into the minutes for Allen and the bench players. And I think we can rule out Lee and Okogie playing any sort of important role in the playoffs.

I think we are going to have to play small in the playoffs a decent amount…I’d take some Nurkic/Plumlee minutes away and give them to Bol or Dunn

Ya I get it…I think we need him to take a step forward though. I’d give him 20 minutes and hope he becomes a real difference maker. We need some rotation surprises if we’re going to win anything and Bol seems like one of the few guys that could surprise.

100%... I get the feeling Bol is going to take a step this year.

I don’t think he’ll be in the rotation to start…would love it if he finds his way in.

We need Dunn, Oso and Bridges to give us some CamJ and Mikal magic.

Nurkic staying in shape and getting some gym time this summer. Is that maybe his brother on the right?

Do we think we’ve upgraded at this point? The way I see it… Top 10 rotation guys from last year

1. KD to KD(probably a slight downgrade due to age/availability)
2. Booker to Booker(equal or maybe slight upgrade)
3. Beal to Beal(equal…maybe slight upgrade)
4. Nurkic to Nurkic(slight downgrade)
5. Allen to Allen(equal)
6. Royce to Royce(upgrade due to full season)
7. Gordon to Morris(equal to upgrade for fit)
8. Eubanks to Plumlee(upgrade)
9. Okogie to Dunn/Okogie(equal, hopeful upgrade)
10. Bol to Bol(upgrade)

Lastly Vogel to Bud(Upgrade)

I count 4 upgrades, 5 equal, 2 downgrades…should make for overall a better team. Playoffs though will be the big question.

I think the talent level is fairly even, maybe a bit better constructed, but I think Bud is a clearly superior option to Vogel, especially for the offensive talent this team has. I'll be surprised if there isnt an overall upgrade in the W/L.

And hopefully in the enjoyment factor. No way we have as many melt downs as last year in the 4th.

Nice summary; I think we'll be better overall, if (*IF*) we stay mostly healthy. Specifically if Book and KD stay healthy for most of the year. We got really lucky with them this past year, but who knows if it will happen again? I especially worry that with the summer Olympics, they won't really take much time off to rest. If healthy, with Coach Bud, we're better this coming season due to continuity, coaching, and some of the bench signings.

Love that little push shot, reminds me of Richaun Holmes a bit. Also remember that shot being available a lot for Euwbanks and Nurk. But neither really could hit it.

Oso certainly looks the part with that Desmond Bane physique.

The shooting part, not so much.
