2024 NBA Draft
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Respectfully, I don't think any of our rookies are going to get enough minutes to be a major part of our core. Maybe Dunn gets some time as a defensive specialist but I don't know about the others.
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Probably most likely but you never know. Also depends how much Bud plays his rookies. I don't know his record on that.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
That's where the mentality part comes in.
How many can hold up to them?
When Draymond becomes the small-ball center what happens?
He digs in and does his best; just make them work for it

Oh, I'm sure.
Yet I don't want them to sit just because they are rookies. If they are better players than someone else on the bench then they should play.
I'd rather see a turnover from an improving/learning rookie than Okogie, Bol, Little

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Oso to Dunn lobs are going to be a thing.
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
I hope you guys are right about Dunn. He just looks so uncomfortable with the ball that I'm afraid he'll struggle with NBA pressure even when he's just catching lobs. Really hope I'm wrong, but right now I don't believe he'll be an NBA player.
I kind of agree with Bucktastic that mentality will be the most important x factor for Oso. If he's tough and competitive enough, he'll be good.

I like our rookies but I just don't think they'll get a lot of minutes. We have the starters, plus Royce, Bol, Plumlee, Morris, D. Lee; maybe Okogie if we re-sign him. Unless we have 2-3 major injuries or have a lot of blowouts, I don't see where the rooks will get much run. But don't get me wrong, I would love to see them get some time to grow their game and show what they can do. I do think they have a lot of potential. I especially like Dunn as a defensive weapon for specific possessions, but you can't just throw him out there like that if he hasn't gotten any real game time.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
You're talking about a late first round pick and a second round pick. If they're even in the league 5 years from now, it'll be a success. I have zero expectations for either of them to play any role on a team who is stuck in win now mode
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
I think Dunn will play rotation minutes…but certainly that might not be a full season or playoff thing. He’s got to be able to produce. I don’t expect Oso to be apart of the rotation at all this year…
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
This place was ready to crown Camara last year too, everyone is just to hungry for a fun rookie.
Love, Hurts.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Camara was actually a good rookie, especially for the position he was drafted.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Only 6 rookies played more minutes than him last year.. of course he wouldn’t have played as much if he stayed with us…Feel like Dunn could have a similar impact as a rookie…shift a little to defense and away from offense.
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Anyone else think we might have whiffed on Kolek? The kid looked good in summer league highlights I saw.
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
He has had some moments…he’s also shooting sub 40% and just over 30% from 3
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
He definitely showed out and looked like one of the best players in Vegas. Even so, I expect him to look really good in that setting given his experience and the overall level of play. He's too good for Summer League and will be too good for the GLeague. Will is translate to the pros? TBD and he did look smaller out there than I anticipated. I think he could've been the guy 3-4 years ago to come off the bench behind CP. Now it's just different given our roster construction and having Monte Morris for this year at least softens the blow.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
I am more confident in Gillespie than I am of Kolek
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
I believe Gillespie is gonna stick when he gets a real shot. Kids too good a shooter to not get a role somehow.
Love, Hurts.
Re: 2024 NBA Draft
I think Kolek's shooting numbers will get better as he improves his shot selection. There are some shots that he made in college but won't be able to make against pro defenses.
I would have loved to have him, but there's no way he would have gotten minutes for us. I'm glad he went to Portland where he will almost certainly get regular minutes backing up Scoot. I'm actually looking forward to watching Portland this year. They are going to play a fun brand of basketball, especially if Scoot starts to figure it out.
