Here's another poll, taken after the recent debate, commissioned by AARP, specifically of the swing state of Wisconsin. More rough numbers for Biden. Worth noting that Dem Senate candidates in the same state are polling at ~ +5-6, while Biden is polling at -6, a swing of over 10 points by voters in the same state in the same poll. Not great for Joe.

AARP? Even old folks think he's too old.

Cook Political has also moved their prediction ratings for six states toward Trump. Noteworthy given that Biden has been far outspending Trump on ads in those states, and Trump has recently received a big cash infusion from big donors and will be upping his ad spending in those areas.

Another national poll from Ipsos. Biden has a decent overall number in this one, but, the key is in those swing states, where his numbers have been worse. Also noteworthy is that Harris gets a higher number in the same poll (below).

At this point I would really like to lose my bet with In2. (He bet me whether Biden would be the Dem nominee in Nov 2024; I voted yes, he voted no.)

This Marist poll shows the national election numbers have not changed much. Interesting data, but as always, a) swing states matter much more than the overall pop. vote %, and b) polls may be BS this far from the election date.

Yes please. I am so completely ready for her to be our candidate. This is a nice clip and an example of the kind of speechmaking that Biden simply isn't up to anymore. IMO this version of Kamala stands a much better chance of energizing the electorate and defeating Trump, which is of the utmost importance.

We really seem to be headed toward a big Trump victory, if not a landslide. Dems are basically resigned to it.

A bit of new polling for PA and VA. Biden needs PA to win, so this is not great news for him. Being that close to losing Virginia is a big red flag. Note: These polls were done before the assassination attempt, so, all polling numbers are probably about to move a few points.

These swing state numbers are really bad for Biden. The fact that the various Dem House and Senate candidates score much better in the same states in the same polls is a sign that Biden is the problem, not Dems as a whole.

I was disappointed that Stewart barely touched on the assassination attempt itself nor its aftermath. But I always like his weekly shows.
