Yes.
Never mind. No they won't. Not with the Morris Twins extension and resigning Knight. And you got to resign Knight now that you overpaid to get him.

Again, I like Knight, but he's not special. Why was it so urgent to get him? Just so we can keep starting 2 point guards?

It just keeps getting worse.

Had no idea Michael Carter-Williams is 23. I thought that dude was like barely 20 or something.

Only God can judge me..

That's your McMiracle, ladies and gentlemen.
Why do you insist on continuing to call him that?
Because it was absurd and premature nickname that I didn't come up with.
I haven't seen it used much on this board.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

There's a chance we'd see it next year when it's top 3 protected, but I don't think the Lakers will be miserable again, so it would've been mid-late lottery at best.

I fully expect the Lakers to be back in the playoffs during or before the 2016-17 season.
I was thinking the same thing. It'll probably end up being a mid-rounder.

Fuck this man, I'm out. I'll see you guys in 5 years when we don't have a gm and owner with their head up their ass.
Settle down. Let's see what we've got after the aftermath.
Exactly. We did not get Durant or Curry but we did not lose any of those guys either.

I feel that all of this is part of the process in which we as the ball-club's most loyal fans should believe in. Call me naive and stupid, but I am always kind of expecting a 2011-like Mavericks season from our Suns.

Plus: We don't know why it came to all of this but we should not forget that not only Dragic's comments made it seem like rather big changes to the roster had to be made in order to restore/rebuild the team's chemistry/integrity. Nobody knows who's fault that was but it is pretty unlikely that all of this was caused by one man alone and I applaud our FO for seeing the need to make a big move and then go through with it.

Also, all of this is still way better than signing Hedo Türkoğlu, Hakim Warrick and Josh Childress, so ...

Here's the thing. The Lakers are probably going to be bad enough this year that we won't get the pick. It'll be top-5 very likely. Next year, when the pick is top-3 protected, they'll probably improve somewhat. But there's absolutely no way that they somehow become a playoff team or even close to it. My guess is that pick probably ends up #6, #7, #9, something like that. I guarantee you, on the day of the 2016 draft, Philly will be absolutely ecstatic to have that pick in their hands. It's an extremely valuable asset.
I don't really see it that way because, well, they're the Lakers, and they will have cap space this summer.
They had cap space this past summer, too.

We can choose to minimize the value of that pick now that it's gone, but until today it was the jewel of our assets crown, and it has been used (along with two other things) to acquire a guy who is good but who is also once again redundant to some extent and who once again is in need of a new contract.

If Knight doesn't blow up, it's a mistake regardless of where the pick ends up landing.

Just got home. I'm not thrilled. If you break it down to the good elements it is:

Out: Goran, IT, Enni, Lakers 1st
In: Knight, 2016 Cleveland pick, 2017 Heat pick, 2021 Heat pick.

If you add the fact that Knight isn't even under contract and we have to repeat last Summer all over again & we're moving him to a position he doesn't want to really play? Sigh.
Go Suns!

Justin Hamilton should be coming the Suns way in the trade. He has some stretch potential, seems to move well, good size. Nothing to get excited over, but I wouldn't rule him out from being a potential contributor.

I would have loved Hamilton. Has totally SF game in a 7' body.

ESPN had Hamilton and Shawne Williams on our roster about an hour ago...
Love, Hurts.
