How many California Dems have ever polled well or been elected nationally? The entire country looks at California libs as way too far left.

Which policies of Harris in particular do you think are too far left? I'm curious what she will end up saying about her policy platform: will she mostly align with what Biden said and did, or will she differ on some issues? I read somewhere that she didn't totally agree with Biden on Israel/Gaza, but who knows.

She screwed herself badly by running left of her true position in 2020. Run as a moderate prosecutor in chief and prosecute the guy who just got convicted of 30-something felonies. So far in the past 24 hours, she has been executing flawlessly.

If Kamala Harris was to be elected president of the United States, I believe that would be the first time in my lifetime that the president was younger than me.
I’m sorry.

I hope the Dems unite behind her and don’t splinter. I don’t think that will happen. I think the universal desire to defeat Trump is great and they will all get behind her. Trump just went from being the young guy to being the oldest Presidential candidate ever. Trump won’t be debating grampa anymore. He will be debating a young seasoned prosecutor who happens to be a minority woman too. Trump will not be able to help himself and will start insulting her being a woman and that isn’t going to help him.

Um...thanks? But I wasn't looking for sympathy. As we age, it has to happen at some point. God willing.

We're off to a great start at least. Based on the initial campaign contributions, a lot of the country is excited and united. I know a lot of my friends also contributed yesterday.

Nodack rules to live by. As a young guy it is inappropriate to make fun of someone’s age. As an old guy it is very appropriate to make fun of someone’s age.

Yes, all was lost a week ago and the Dems were starting to resign themselves to defeat. Maga was getting cocky talking about the revolution not having to be bloody if the left allows it. Today the Dems are rejuvenated. I saw a headline that there was an avalanche of donations pouring into the Harris campaign right now. We’l see where this goes soon.

I think a random benefit of Harris being a minority woman is that the GOP and GOP-adjacent media personalities won't be able to resist saying racist and sexist things about her, which will irritate women and moderate voters. They just won't be able to help themselves. You can already see some signs of it: Trump calls every woman "crazy," Vance says Kamala is a "crazy cat lady" who doesn't have a stake in this country because she is childress; Elon and others are already calling her a "DEI President," and so on.

They don't seem to have found their attack angle yet. These clips of her saying various mantras ("Unburdened by what has been" ... "coconut tree") won't stick. And they're sharing these clips of her laughing. Laughing? Eyeroll. You can do better, Hannity!

Women leaders aren't allowed to laugh...say some idiots.

The weekend before Putin invaded Ukraine, Harris was meeting with allies in Europe to keep them
together behind Zelenskyy.
It wasn't easy. European leaders feared losing their Russian oil supply, but the VP held them together.
Putin was supposed to roll through Kyiv within 48 hours.
Today the alliance is still together and Russia remains bogged down.
Putin can't be happy with the prospect of President Harris.

I gotta say, whatever flaws she may have as a candidate, it is SO REFRESHING to watch a Dem Presidential candidate who can speak basic fucking sentences all the way to the end without becoming confused and trailing off. Having a clear communicator at the top of the ticket is such a breath of fresh air.

Wow. I just finished watching Kamala's speech to her campaign headquarters. Trump likes to talk about "perfect" everything although he's as flawed as they get, well, Kamala's speech really was perfect. It's so refreshing having an adult in the room. I'm even more confident than ever now that she'll wipe the floor with Trump. He won't know what hit him. MAGA headquarters has to be in serious panic mode right about now.

Granted the pivot is better than Biden, there’s still a lot of time between now and the election. The first debate will be highly anticipated and will be must see tv. I hope they include RFK Jr. just to be fair.
