Trivia about Mutombo: he was the last NBA player older than I was. And he had over three years on me.

That made me curious…any year now the last nba player older than me will retire…unless LeBron just keeps playing. Currently there are 7 left. Lebron, PJ Tucker, Chris Paul, Taj Gibson, Kyle Lowry, Garrett Temple, and Al Horford.

I was told he's a great coach and defensive wizard.
Love, Hurts.

A HEALTHY Warren as the microwave 6th man in that team really would be sick.

Knicks are now my clear #2 team; especially since it dumped Randle

I'm pretty skeptical that Warren has much left in the tank. But I hope he does, and more power to him and the Knicks if so. They certainly have a lot of talent on their roster.

He'll have 17pts in a preseason game, then Knicks fans will name him MIP and retire his jersey.

Zach Edey looks good so far.

I think Zach Edey is going to be one of the best rooks this season. IMO several teams blew it by passing on him and he was super underrated in the draft. Relatedly, I think Memphis is set to have a good season with Edey and with Ja back.

I agree with that assessment of Memphis. It's hard to matchup with a team that has mismatch problems at both pg and center. Then you add the perfect pf next to Edey in JJJ, a sniper like Bane and you still have Clarke, Smart, and Kennard available.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves on Edey. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see. Let's give it a little time before we crown his ass. :P

I'm not crowning him, but I think it's going to be hard for teams to score in the paint against them with him and JJJ there. He should also help open things up with his screens and help JJJ with rebounding, since we know it's not a strength of JJJ's. Whether he's used correctly on the offensive end, is another question.

As much as some fans don't like Nurk and want him moved, and for all his limitations, you need a true center with bulk and strength like him if a guy like Edey works out for Memphis. Seeing those clips, a smaller, more agile center like Oso isn't going to cut it. At the same time, maybe Oso can help against guys like Wemby and Chet whereas Nurk just can't stay with them on the perimeter. There won't be one answer so having options is a good thing.
