Royce +25, Plum +23, Beal +14.

That was...weird

The finish was weird. Seemed to me there was enough time on the clock for LBJ to hit the free throw and foul us on the inbound.

I love this win.
Bud recognized what and who was working and stuck with it (and essentially benched Nurk 2nd half) And then gave Nurk a chance to help late. Love the approach.
Dunn/Oneal is a phenomenal wing rotation. Once Grayson gets going, we’re not going to see awful bench lineups. The top 8 can all play.

Favor returned. The big 3 finishing the game with no pg is kind of huge, it’ll allow us to go big in high leverage moments and play Royce or Dunn, maybe both? That can be deadly.

I think LA was out of timeouts…tried to steal a possession…could’ve worked if his teammates were ready for it…our guys reacted much quicker

Exactly. That wasn't a smart play. Lakers would have had 6.1 seconds left.

Love Dunn my God amazing D tonight.
We have got to use our current logjam on the wing (Allen or Oneal) to find a replacement for Nurk and let Dunn take the wing minutes

SUNS WIN!!!
Credit to the Big 3 for all making good plays down the stretch. Dunn had several plays tonight that made me holler and pump my fist; I love this kid. Royce also played well. Plum did a nice job on AD. Nurk was a disaster but kudos to him for noticing Lebron's FT bounce scheme and swatting away the ball.
Credit to Coach Bud for noticing what wasn't working in the 1st half and changing things up. Still too much KD/Book iso for me but I loved that we didn't give up and fought for the win. I also really like that we can field a pretty good defensive lineup down the stretch if we want to. I like this year's team so much more than last year's.

Great coaching by Bud.
Got KD on a couple elbow plays in the fourth. Made adjustments in the rotation (mainly no Nurk), not afraid to go away from something that's not working unlike Dorkmaster Frank last year

They’d have to foul…that probably takes a second, maybe 2 if we call a timeout and advance and have more space…so then they have 4-5 seconds to go the length of the court…certainly doable, but we’d just foul again before they cross half court and they’d be in the same situation only with 2 seconds left now….I can see extending the game and hoping we make a mistake(turnover or missed ft), but I see the benefit in what LeBron did too…Uncle_Gene wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:32 pmExactly. Seems to me O’Neale is contributing more and Allen can probably fetch more in trade. Then again, maybe I should wait until Allen is healthy for a stretch of games before deciding that “O’Neale is contributing more.”specialsauce wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:34 pmWe have got to use our current logjam on the wing (Allen or Oneal) to find a replacement for Nurk and let Dunn take the wing minutes

My overreaction is I think we might be good center away from being a true championship contender.
Nurk just isn’t a championship level center but It’s a pipe dream trading Nurk. Too much of a negative asset rn, plus we’d had to attach draft capital to do it. We just need an option we can go tho.
Of potential options out there, Walker Kessler is literally perfect but so many teams could potentially outbid us tho.
Monte, Royce and Dunn make Grayson expendable but not sure who we can get for his salary. Kelly Olynyk?
Nick Richards
Goga
Paul Reed could be a decent option too.
Any other realistic targets?

Royce has been awesome and we need his “plays bigger than his size” ability on the wing. I don’t want to trade Grayson either…just send Okogie for the 5 help.

Good news is both Royce and Allen are on good tradable contracts. We definitely have options. Okogie too.Cap wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:50 pmSeems to me O’Neale is contributing more and Allen can probably fetch more in trade. Bud is a MUCH better coach than Vogel.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
