Hope Pop is okay.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Thanks for making the threads, Shel!

They keep messing with the All-star game and weekend. I say just keep it the old way with an East team and a West team. I hate this "Team Lebron, Team Steph" garbage. I want the conferences to feel a rivalry where, like, say the East has won the last 3 and so the West wants to take it away from them.

The players don’t care enough…it’s never going to be like the all star games from 30 years ago

I think most everyone agrees the 3pt shootout in the best part of the weekend. The game is boring and not competitive, the skills challenge is kinda lame and the dunk contest is anti-climactic. So how do you replicate or build upon the 3pt shootout? Add more players? Make it a tournament? Different spots on the floor?

I heard it's just for rest. Is this the beginning of the end?

Thanks for the news updates. Seems right that Embiid receives a short suspension for his conduct. Physical aggression should be nipped in the bud swiftly by the league.

He didn't want to play anyway. It'll just be a drop in the bucket to him financially.

Was the member of the media also suspended or reprimanded for the personal attack on Embiid? I’m far from an Embiid fan, but bringing his dead brother into a piece slamming his work ethic is a bit much. Sure he has freedom of speech and the press, but being a decent human being is common courtesy. Show some respect.

I agree; not saying that Embiid should have shoved him, but the article was classless. The 76ers shouldn't have even allowed him into the locker room after that article.

I agree. There should be commensurate reprimanding of the reporter as well.

I’m not sure about that. Punishing members of the press for publishing critical opinions is wrong, and the distinction between “critical” and “offensive” is very subjective.

Nothing wrong with critical opinion. It's bringing the dead brother and his son into it that is in question. That is classless and uncalled for.

There was 0.0% reason to bring his family members into something that doesn't involve them. Hayes is a shit stirrer, always has been.

I think being a bad writer is something that don't warrant any kind of official reprimand.
He can be openly criticized like KD does with Stephen A, but not allowing him to do his job is a line you don't want to cross.

As Cap said, is a subjetctive matter. If you extrapolate this to other subjects like politics is easy to find is better to have such freedom.

Yes, but once you establish the policy of banning those with “classless and uncalled for” writing, it becomes too easy to apply that to any writing you don’t like.

I also think people are exaggerating how bad it was. Either of those paragraphs would have been fine on its own. The juxtaposition of them is very insensitive, but the author might not have realized that.
