Absolutely. But, even if Beal agrees, Miami surely would want compensation. Would you give up the 2031 pick? We'd still need an upgrade at center, but the team would appear to be much more balanced and, what's more important, would gain a lot in competitiveness. Same injury concerns, I guess. And older.

What we should note is that Himmy isn't any less injury prone than Beal and he's also much older. But when he's out there he's a tough son of a bitch (and not talentless, TOO)

I’d add a second haha.
No way would I add 31 pick to that. I’m cool with just keeping Beal.

I think it is 80/20 it doesn’t happen. I think there’s interest, just don’t know if all the parties are THAT interested in making it work.
*cough* Beal *cough*
But if it does happen, I think it happens fast. Like this wouldn’t drag until the deadline.

We need an asshole on the team. I don’t know that we miss CP3’s basketball skills as much as we miss his personality. CP3 didn’t let people lose focus.

The trade deadline is February, 6th, 2025 for anybody else wondering. Yeah, no pick in the deal or no deal as much as I'd like to see at least one player on the court who gives a damn.Wally_West wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:27 pmI think it is 80/20 it doesn’t happen. Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

That's basically resigning to being limited to improve just a little around the margins. I could take that at the start of the season when we looked like a contender, but we are melting down fast. A player with the profile of Butler might be just what we need in terms of intensity and toughness. We'd still need a move for a big but we'd be much closer. If MIA agreed to some protection on the 31 pick I'd pull the trigger. If they were adamant about it being unprotected I'd need to check first what additional moves I can execute this deadline (namely, get a real contributor at center).Wally_West wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:23 pmI’d add a second haha.

In hindsight, we should have just stuck with him. Like Bobster said elsewhere, all kinds of hindsight here. The KD trade was a swing and a miss! The best ability is availability and as far as I know, Bridges has still never missed a game. Plus, giving away all our assets. Even we all knew that was a bad idea. Ishbia's KD at all costs was not smart. That splash hasn't had very many ripples.

I don’t know that it was a big swing and a miss. We still ended up with clearly the best player. CamJ and Mikal are making close to what KD makes, so it’s not much cheaper. We did give up the picks, but those picks are sitting there for us and we could take them back if we want to give Houston KD.
In hindsight I would’ve negotiated for maybe 1 less pick, but I still think trading for KD was the right move.

Not shooting it down
Re: Suns News: Week 8 (12/9 - 12/15)
Feels like we're ompounding mistakes and making the same bad ones that put us in this spot. Aging up and making more midseason trades for a major piece. If you can make the trade, make it now. Waiting until later in the season makes it that much harder to integrate guys and smooth things out offensively/defensively. Ishbia's learning the hard way.
Re: Suns News: Week 8 (12/9 - 12/15)
He might also just see it as an escape. The biggest win might just be getting off the Beal deal

I don't know, that last season with Mikal and Cam was pretty bad. I'd probably still do the KD trade but would have just kept hold of Paul instead of giving him up for Beal. Would we have won a championship? No. I reckon we'd have made it out of the first round though!Superbone wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:37 pmIn hindsight, we should have just stuck with him. I'd actually be fine then with trading for Jimmy, letting him opt out and walking.

OMG IT'S HAPPENING
Re: Suns News: Week 8 (12/9 - 12/15)
If Jimmy starts following the Suns, any Suns players, or Ishbia on twitter/instagram it's a done deal.

I don't miss Bridges or Cam. We weren't getting back to the finals with that roster.SunsSince92 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 1:29 pmI don't know, that last season with Mikal and Cam was pretty bad.
