BTW, I don’t think KD has nearly as much trade value as everybody assumes. He has Book, Beal, and Tyus Jones with him, and still can’t carry his team above .500? Doesn’t make him look like a winner, and he’s old. We’re going to gave a hard time getting two potentially good picks plus good players for that.
Yep.
Booker is the only thing that will bring a haul.
That's what I am thinking too. There isn't going to be much of a market for KD. Only a contender would value you him, and most of the teams trying to contend don't have cap situation to even trade for him. I think Denver is probably the only viable option. They would probably offer MPJ, Nnaji, and one of their young players, plus a pick. That's probably as good as it is going to get.
But I think the Suns could get a massive haul from Detroit or Indiana for Booker.

He's back!
I'd push for Maxey from Philly for KD.
Chet from OKC.
Mathurin and Turner from Indy.
Fox from Sac Town.
Edey, Smart and GG Jackson from Memphis.
Is this an actual leaked pro…
Never mind.

I’d just call Houston…you’re not gonna get all your picks and young guys back…but maybe 2 picks and a young guy. I’d do that if the 2025 pick is one of them…then unload Booker for the biggest haul. We are currently giving Houston a top 10 lottery slot.
Durant for Chet is interesting. It's a no-brainer for the Suns, and I think there might be an appetite for a reunion on both sides of Durant/OKC. But for OKC, it's a very questionable basketball move. Chet and Hartenstein together should be able to wreck havoc defensively; you lose that in bringing in Durant, and all you're gaining is more scoring and national attention/buzz. That's an Ishbia move, but I have trouble seeing Presti go for it.
I don't think Indiana would have any desire to acquire Durant.
Sacramento would never trade Fox for Durant.
Edey/Smart/GG for Durant is actually a lowball offer from Memphis, but ultimately I think they'll land Butler for Smart/Kennard/Clark/Konchar.

I think Houston is going to stay disciplined. They won't chase Butler or Durant. Now if Booker or Fox becomes available, they'll be at the front of the line.

BTW, does anybody expect Ishbia to make moves that will get us both a better team and a better future, or are we abandoning the whole “Ishbia won’t let us get bad” thing?
I hope we’re abandoning it, because Ishbia has already let us get bad. Anybody really feel secure about us getting past the play-ins? We could be a lottery team this year.

They might…I’d be willing to give them Booker for Thompson, Sheppard, and all of our picks.
Yeah, I would count Houston as one of the top suitors in terms of being able to put together a great offer. I still think Indiana and maybe Detroit could do better, but I would definitely consider Houston as a viable option.
If you trade Book, you're going to be forced to trade KD anyway because he won't want to be here and teams will know it.
I wasn't saying keep KD; just saying I think people have a skewed concept of what the Suns will be able to get for him.
Depends on the team, their roster, age and performance this season. I think Houston sees him as a piece that "could" push them towards contention. In that regard, they'd be willing to give up some draft assets. As for other teams, your point stands strong.
Edit: saw your post afterwards. Apologies.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

That's the trajectory.
You guys are going to be eating tons of crown very soon. Caps going to grow wings and fly when Ishbia continues to bring in high level talent. It may not work, but he won't let us become a top 10 lottery team.
I think Jimmy Butler could help a lot, but it's going to take some sort of crazy 3 or 4 team trade to make it happen. I sort of think maybe something with New Orleans or Brooklyn? Beal to one of those teams, Miami gets someone like Zion and/or Cam Johnson... I don't know, the cap gymnastics are the hard part. I think Beal would waive his no trade cause if he got to keep the trade kicker...
Even if we magically just got Jimmy Butler for nothing (not even giving up Beal), this team would still suck and would not be a contender. They just haven't got it.

Good to know our owner won’t allow this sub-.500 team to miss the playoffs. But why did he let them get three games below .500 in the first place?

Hard to see Ishbia OKing a major trade in which he doesn’t give up multiple firsts, and we don’t have the multiple firsts to give up. Maybe he’ll throw in Dunn and Oso instead. Gotta find some way to get taken advantage of.

I hope someone’s blocked Ainges number in ishbias phone or changed it to say “Dan Gilbert” so he won’t answer because we’d get fleeced something fierce.

He can put the product out there but he's not a player, only so much he can do.
He acquired a top 5 player, and a 20-30 ppg scorer to pair with his homegrown top 10 player, MVP candidate.
It's not his fault these idiots can't figure it out. He ate the salary of the coach he paid 1 year in and spent nicely on bringing in the most qualified HC available.
He does not stand pat and he won't at the deadline either. It may not translate to success but he won't be content sucking. We're not going to be OKC blowing ass for 10 years where our picks will be valuable assets. If you are sad about that, sucks to be you. I'm with HIM AND HIMMY
