The talent is there…there’s no reason a team with Booker/Jimmy/KD shouldn’t be good. But something weird is going on with this team…they aren’t playing anywhere near their abilities…so assuming Jimmy would fix it by himself is risky…something needs to change with the current players as well.
Jimmy Butler trade rumors

Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
There was no future price Ishbia wasn’t willing to pay for KD now. Or for Beal. If he takes the same attitude toward trading for Butler, we’re really screwed. (Nice knowing you, Dunn! Bye, Oso! So long, ‘31 pick!) If he doesn’t, he won’t be able to close the deal. Everybody knows you can win playing chicken with Ish.specialsauce wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:30 amHe can put the product out there but he's not a player, only so much he can do.Cap wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:14 amGood to know our owner won’t allow this sub-.500 team to miss the playoffs. But why did he let them get three games below .500 in the first place?specialsauce wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 8:22 amYou guys are going to be eating tons of crown very soon. Caps going to grow wings and fly when Ishbia continues to bring in high level talent. It may not work, but he won't let us become a top 10 lottery team.Superbone wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 9:40 pmThat's the trajectory.Cap wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 7:32 pmBTW, I don’t think KD has nearly as much trade value as everybody assumes. He has Book, Beal, and Tyus Jones with him, and still can’t carry his team above .500? Doesn’t make him look like a winner, and he’s old. We’re going to gave a hard time getting two potentially good picks plus good players for that.
BTW, does anybody expect Ishbia to make moves that will get us both a better team and a better future, or are we abandoning the whole “Ishbia won’t let us get bad” thing?
I hope we’re abandoning it, because Ishbia has already let us get bad. Anybody really feel secure about us getting past the play-ins? We could be a lottery team this year.
Hard to see Ishbia OKing a major trade in which he doesn’t give up multiple firsts, and we don’t have the multiple firsts to give up. Maybe he’ll throw in Dunn and Oso instead. Gotta find some way to get taken advantage of.HIMMOTHY INCOMING
He acquired a top 5 player, and a 20-30 ppg scorer to pair with his homegrown top 10 player, MVP candidate.
It's not his fault these idiots can't figure it out. He ate the salary of the coach he paid 1 year in and spent nicely on bringing in the most qualified HC available.
He does not stand pat and he won't at the deadline either. It may not translate to success but he won't be content sucking. We're not going to be OKC blowing ass for 10 years where our picks will be valuable assets. If you are sad about that, sucks to be you. I'm with HIM AND HIMMY

I couldn't agree more. He doesn't move the needle enough especially at 35. I also don't know why so many people are so high on bringing in a guy who has just been suspended by his own team for 7 games for being a douche. It just feels like a move that will blow up in our face (even more than the Beal, Durant trades) and further cement our place as the league's laughing stock.
Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
Based on essentially 100% of Ishbia's history as Suns owner, any potential Butler deal will:
- Cost us future assets (picks).
- Cost us future cap space (when we re-sign Jimmy to a big contract).
- Make a big splash initially and praised as an "all-in" move and an owner willing to do whatever it takes to win.
- Be revealed as a short-term sugar rush within 6-12 months that ultimately doesn't bring us to contending status.
- Contribute even further toward our franchise being mired at the bottom of the league for a decade to come.

Ewww. If that’s all we can get for Booker, I’m keeping him.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 9:42 pmThey might…I’d be willing to give them Booker for Thompson, Sheppard, and all of our picks.

Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
2 recent top 5 picks and all our picks back for Booker is a pretty good package if you're cashing out. Thompson and Dunn wreaking havoc on the wings with Sheppard in the backcourt is a nice start without counting whatever you get from Durant and a lesser extent BealJeremyG wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 4:17 pmEwww. Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
2 of our picks and one of Thompson or Eason with Sheppard for KD. Book is still a cornerstone you surround with long 3-D wings like Dunn, Amen/Eason.

We're not a top 20 team when Beal is off the floor.

Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
Mr. Curation is somewhat misstating Windy’s report—he doesn’t say he has any direct knowledge about the Heat’s current feelings toward Beal, just that they didn’t want him two years ago.

Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
You think his tenure in Phoenix has made him more attractive?

Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
Perhaps Miami being in a different place themselves has made him more attractive…compared to other offers they are receiving at least.

Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
I can't see Miami taking Beal and that deal just because they already have Herro, he's definitely gonna have to go to a 3rd team

Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
If Miami wanted Beal this deal would have been done already. It's clear they don't. We're gonna send Beal to a different destination
Re: Jimmy Butler trade rumors
Those Beal on/off numbers are misleading imo. He just shouldn't be playing at the same time as Booker.
