I've said for the past 16 months that Beal shouldn't start if the Suns are also starting a Point Guard. Nurkic vacillating between viable and absolute dog shit from night to night only made that more obvious.

If Beal can't comprehend this situation, there's no hope -- his basketball ego is untenable on this roster.
Gawd. You were right.

Dumb idea but what if we stand pat on the roster and just sign jimmy this summer? Is there a 3rd or 4th apron Ishbias looking to go for? 😆

If Beal would legit embrace the 6th man role longterm, I'd rather have him here than trade for and extend Jimmy.

Sign him to what? The minimum? We are in the 2nd tax apron with no cap space. Or are you thinking we let KD walk to free up $50m? :-)

I forgot about the second apron rule that you can only do limited deals to basically fill out a roster. Was thinking ishbia could just sign whatever empty check he wanted to. Stupid rules.

It does kinda seem like if we can find a spot for Beal that Jimmy could be ours.

Extending Jimmy and KD til they are 40, what could go wrong?

40 is the new 30…at least that’s what I’m telling myself

What happened to Jimmy saying he could be happy “anywhere but Miami”?

If Miami doesn't want a superstar who can give you 25 points OFF THE BENCH, I don't know what to tell them.

The rules could be improved…

Jimmy doesn't have as much control has Chris Haynes implies. Assuming he opts out, where is he going to go? No contender could offer him $50M, so he takes a big pay cut (which I doubt he would do) or signs with Utah (who probably doesn't want him). It's all posturing.

Unless Miami wants to just let him walk, the best offer they get is Beal. Straight up or maybe with a 2nd. No 2031 first.

BTW, I think its Phoenix's unwillingness to give up the 2031 first that is holding up the deal. Miami is posturing to get it, and Suns are holding firm, which I think is the right move. Let Miami give in.
