Can't coach "want". Said it when he was here, still holds true. And as crazy as it seems, I'm still happier with a benched Nurk than losing my mind having to watch plays like that each game. Plus we still got Allen in the deal.

Thank god for that! And I agree, I'm happier not watching him. I wish I could have had Jeremy-colored glasses when it came to him but I was just too frustrated by his flaws and wasted potential. It was obvious that his heart wasn't into it. Still sick we couldn't land Sabonis or Turner for him though. The Suns waited too long and dropped the ball. I feel like it may have turned out differently had Ishbia been in place earlier. I don't think Sarver made it easy.

Simple way to think of it is, would the Blazers trade Ayton for Nurk+Grayson right now? Yes, yes they would. They would be rid of DA, they'd get a semi serviceable backup C in Nurk who's been there before, and they'd get an elite 3 point shooting wing in Allen. Easy upgrade.

Gotta include Camara too…I’m not actually sure they do that…

100%. Even if Nurking is unplayable ("semi serviceable" haha), breaking Ayton's contract into two deals, with one belonging to a high level role player is a clear W.

The way people talk about Camara here you'd think he was Mikal Bridges.

I mean, he was a nice finding and I thought that he was not needed in the trade from a value standpoint but even so, getting rid of Ayton was a must and probably nobody else was taking him. 10-5 on average 3pt% with good defense is nice but 30mpg is hard to come by on a win now team like we "are", so I won't exaggerate the hit. Of course he exceeded the projected value of a second rounder, but look at guys like O'Neale or DFS, being acquired by 3 2ndR picks. So unless he makes a big unexpected leap we can afford to live without him.

Yeah, he was definitely a nice Jones find, but I'm not losing sleep.

My point was from the Blazers side…why would they want Grayson? They’d prefer a younger, cheaper Camara. The blazers wouldn’t undo the trade and neither would the suns…seems like a good trade to me.

And we could use Camara, he’s good and has size. It’s too bad we had to include him.

What are they going to do with your heart? Is it a fireheart that will save their homes and possessions? Actually, that would be pretty awesome. Your heart coming out of your chest, stopping some fires, and then returning. How long do you think you could go without it? I’ve been surviving without a heart for quite a while, FWIW.

The Blazers probably feel that way about him.

Camara leads the team in minutes played and steals. 3rd in rebounds, 5th in assists, 6th in blocks and points. He's arguably the best defender on the team. He's the guy that the coach can't take off the court regardless of the talent around him.

But he's 4th on the team in minutes per game and avg 9ppg. Let's be realistic. 😂

I'm not saying he's as good as Mikal. But I do think Blazers fans probably like him about as much as we liked early Mikal. Just look how excited we are about Dunn. Coaches and fans love a dirt worker who contributes and is reliable.

Calling it now. James Jones signs him to a min deal next year. JJ gets hard seeing past their prime centers who can pass the ball decent.

Always liked him... He's pretty good as Aquaman too.
