Also makes sense now why Bud was tanking the game last night.

On reflection I'm not sure it is wise to be benching Nurkic and not playing him altogether. Despite his flaws, Nurk does do some things well. He rebounds well and he passes / facilitates well. I don't think it is good use of him as an asset to just let him rot on the bench. He could be playing as our primary bench center instead of Plumlee. I like Plumlee but Nurk might actually be a better bench center than a starter, since he could help facilitate the offense and maybe would have better luck offensively vs backups than NBA starters. Why ruin the relationship with him and reduce him to a zero contributor when we so clearly need size and rebounding?

Having Nurk shoot more three-pointers doesn't seem like the wisest decision either.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 5:52 pmOn reflection I'm not sure it is wise to be benching Nurkic and not playing him altogether. Agreed. Think we misplayed our hand with him. I don't know why we couldn't just start him for the first 3-4 minutes, then go with Oso and essentially use Nurk as a big body backup/rebounder. Always said he still has value against the bigger bodies. Still could've made the trade for Richards too.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 5:52 pmOn reflection I'm not sure it is wise to be benching Nurkic and not playing him altogether.
