Anybody else watch the Severance Season 2 premiere yet? They dropped it last night on Apple TV. Without any spoilers, I enjoyed it but didn't think it was quite up to the level of Season 1. We'll see how things go as more episodes drop each week.
Because of you, I'm still re-watching S1 first. Tonight, I'm on S1E5.

I'm at the same point for the same reason.

S1E3 . Such a great show.
So, I binged three shows tonight. S1E7, Defiant Jazz, is a masterpiece. Two to go before starting S2. They do a masterful job of ramping of the intensity from show to show.
Just wrapped up season 1 of Halt and Catch Fire. Worth the watch

I watched it, and thought it was good. I have a feeling it's going to use a similar cadence as the first season, where each episode builds up a faster rhythm, if that makes sense.

I just watched S2E1. Loved it.

Loved the quirky replacements. Loved the new 12-year-old girl "I'm not your friend" mid-manager. Loved getting the gang back together. Loved the new break room presentation.
I also like being caught up with the rest of the world and forced to watch one a week with everybody else. Now I can read and comment on the episodes with everyone.

Yea that is the downside to binging…. But at the same time with my wife’s crazy schedule it’s better to binge when she’s on her breaks.

It was a great first episode. My wife and I watched a 35-minute YouTube recap someone did on Season 1 just before jumping back in. We quickly realized how insane the ending of S1 was and were thankful we had the refresher.

Here's a question I have for you all regarding Severed.

If Mark S. is severed, how did he know he had a dead wife on the outside. I understand that he recognizes her from the picture as Ms. Casey from his innie world but how did he know his outie had a presumed dead wife which would cause him to yell, "She's alive!" That would be the outie's reaction. Not the innie's.

In the last episode, while the Overtime Protocol is activated, Mark S. talks to his sister at the book reading that he's at. If you'll remember, their plan was to find someone trustworthy and tell as much as they could about conditions on the severed floor; Mark decides that his sister is who he'll talk to. We don't see their whole conversation, but we do see him ask, essentially, "why did he (the outie self) put me in there?" And his sister explains about Gemma/Ms.Casey, that Mark was in such pain after her death that he couldn't go on teaching and decided to take the severed job to try to cut down on the time when he had to feel it. Mark S. is, pretty visibly, trying to empathize with his other self, and so I think the reaction makes sense when he finds out who she is (was?) and that she's still alive, at least for some definitions of "alive".
It's an important moment, but it gets lost just a little in the fact that Mark then immediately asks about Ms. Cobel/Ms. Selvig, and why she's at the book signing, and then all hell breaks loose as we think that she's taken Mark's sister's baby.

Right, forgot about the talking to his sister part (that was off camera).
Watched the latest episode of Severance last night, and it was better than the first episode and answered some of the questions that came up in the first.

I too watched it as soon as it was available last night. Good stuff. I feel like it will ramp up episode by episode just like the first season.

I have a theory that I wonder about. Do you think that Ricken might be an Eagen or Eagan adjacent? BTW, this isn't any type of spoiler, as there is no indication of this.

I hadn't thought of that although he's certainly pompous enough to be one. But if so, I would have thought that his book would have gotten more of a reaction when it was intercepted in S1. One of the big theories making the rounds is that the real Helena has now infiltrated the innie's world. One of the tells was that it took her a bit to find the on switch on her computer in S2E1. It also took her a minute to embrace Mark S. after kissing him just previously.

Yeah, when they asked her what she saw, she lied to them. That would have been a tell too. My son and I were thinking the same thing, that it's the innie.
