That is so sad about Rose. The guy just wants to play, and he was finally back and having a normal year. What a loss for them.

Point guard Rajon Rondo did not play the final 20-plus minutes of the Dallas Mavericks' 99-92 win over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night, after a profanity-laced shouting match with coach Rick Carlisle over play-calling responsibilities.

That will be a fascinating situation to watch unfold in the next few weeks

if dallas wants to salvage this season, they need to shut rondo down and let the other pgs (barea, harris, felton) get more PT.

I hope Rondo and Goran both go to LA so they can argue with Kobe over who gets to be point guard.

I liked the Rondo acquisition for the Mavs, but the lesson remains that a guard who cannot shoot is worthless.

I am convinced of it. Not sure any player in the league would mesh with Kobe better.

In terms of personality, sure. In terms of skills, not at all.

Really? I don't see that. I think they'd clash like a motherf'r.

Really, nobody will get along well with Kobe so long as he thinks he's 2006 Kobe. He wants/needs the ball too much and no longer has the overwhelming talent and athleticism to dominate games any more.

It's not about playing with Kobe. It'd only be Kobe for maybe a year. It'd be about the transition from Kobe. So if it's Rondo and Love/Monroe and Randle or Rondo and Randle next year and Durant in 2017...

Lost in all this is how Carlise handled the situation. Like a Boss. He mouths to Rondo "Sit your ass down" and then benches him for the rest of the game and it comes out he's suspended for conduct detrimental. Carlise doesn't take crap from nobody and I love it.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

They did ask Carlisle if Rondo would start next game and he said that's what they pay him to do.

Such a perfect response. He handled it really well.
