Sure he's an elite shooter but he is so fucking bland and soft.
The Suns need high motor, physical role players to complement their soft stars. Royce, Grayson, Tyus, Mason, Bol Bol....these guys go to In N Out and ask for a burger with meat and buns only, no spread cause it's too spicy.
What they really need is some perimeter defenders. Booker, Jones, Beal and Allen are collectively horrible defensively.
This. This. This. This. It’s one of the biggest problem for the last two years. That and butt center play.
All of our guards are bad defenders who are ask to guard bigger players or the best players. Dunn has helped but once teams do their first action it’s been bbq chicken.
that’s why I want to get Butler, Upgrading Beal to a bigger or better defender in Butler, then pairing him with Dunn would be a night and day difference for our perimeter defense.
I'm hoping if we do get Butler, he gets on the team's collective ass to work harder on defense and rebounding. He could be worth having for that alone.

I think the guys know they’re supposed to play defense. We don’t need to bring Jimmy in to tell them that.
“Are you crazy?! You think I’m going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today.” — Ish 3/13/25

It's more than telling them. It's constant reinforcement and getting on them for each mistake. Sure, that could get old and backfire too but something in the middle might work. What I'm saying is we need more than just leading by example. We need a hard-ass leader like Paul used to be for us. That worked out pretty well, if you remember.
According to NBA reporter Jake Fischer, "Phoenix, entering Monday's business, continued to signal that it does not plan to move Durant before the deadline, sources said, but the Suns are believed to be listening at the very least to various teams' pitches for the 35-year-old scoring legend. Durant, meanwhile, is said to be aware of all this."
Fischer added that the Suns "are expected to maintain a very high asking price before they ever agree to part ways with him. We're talking serious draft capital and highly rated young talent. The Suns do have a level of interest in Jonathan Kuminga, sources said."
It turns out that LA could go after Durant by offering Phoenix two first-rounders (2029, 2031) and a package of Norman Powell, Terance Mann, Derrick Jones Jr., and Kris Dunn.

Would anyone pull the trigger on that?
Booker, Mann, Powell, Jones, Grayson starting 5. Let's get weird.

That language has softened substantially about keeping KD which is interesting.
It has not. These are reports of stuff happened in the past few weeks. No where has there been anything close to something like "the Suns are engaged in trade negotiations with "team X" for KD". It's all, "they called and we said 'no thanks'".
