Devin Booker has also taken the most shot attempts in Suns history.
He is also the player with the worst defensive rating in Suns history.

Imagine calling yourself a Suns fan and also a Devin Booker hater. What a weird perspective.

I still remember that first bucket he got, a jumpshot (surprising high vertical) from the free throw line off a curl. Immaculate.

the really weird thing to me is putting Booker fandom before being a Suns fan, periodFlagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 12:46 amImagine calling yourself a Suns fan and also a Devin Booker hater. What a weird perspective.
it's like putting the love of a politician before the love of country
the fact is, i posted the facts the media spin doesn't share
and there's a lot more evidence pointing to Devin Booker being just a scorer who can't produce real results
"imagine this"
* a team has been rebuilding for 10 years on one player. Half a dozen coaches have changed, and all the player's several times. He's the one piece that hasn't changed through the worst decade in Suns history and it's been "his team" through historic NBA meltdowns. Only showed up once in a 4 game sweep last year after surrounding him with a top ten player in history still in great form.
* it's the highest payroll in NBA history. And for the 2nd straight year, struggling to just make the playoffs.
* he's among the top 5 highest paid player in the world, yet the rest of the league, coaches and fans don't even see him as qualified among the 24 All-Stars
* his best season was his season with one of the best point-guards in nba history in top form leading the team, as he has lead and improved every team and player he's played with in his career. The Suns went from being the #1 clutch team with CP3 to being the #30 clutch team as soon as CP3 left, and Booker is shooting 18% in the final 2 minutes of close games.
* If you can't get anywhere with Booker beside Durant, who are you going to get to lead him to the ring? Because it would take a Luka or Nokic to get that done. Otherwise, you'd need 2 great players to play alongside him. And you'll never get that with him earning the super-max!!!
WEIRD is local fans buying into the Booker hype the past 2 weeks and not even considering cashing him out before the deadline, when clear-headed reason and facts point to him being a dead-end of empty stats and results.

oh, and, indeed, someone would have to "imagine me calling myself a Booker hater" because i didn't, you did.
i actually like him. He's just an employee who isn't getting the job done and is being overpaid. If he takes a serious pay cut and demotion, I'd have a starting role for him. As long as he agrees to never try to be the point guard and play iso, hero-ball at the end of games.
so the phx community could get what they deserve after 57 years and their worst decade -- a true contender, dare i say a championship -- instead of a new, painted outdoor basketball court that Booker paid for with absurd amounts of community money extracted from overpriced jerseys, tickets, beers, etc..

I do agree on the general point (and not coming from anyone in particular), that no one player should ever be placed above a franchise, especially as it pertains to the franchise's long-term health/sustainability for contention.

It’s a great accomplishment for Book. But it’s time to move on from him—it’s clear he is never going to lead us to a title.

I’ll never get the Booker sucks at pg crowd..Booker has his warts and he has been bad in crunch time…our team sucked last year in the 4th Q too, but that was usually because Booker sat at the start of the 1st Q. I wish we could have a pg as good as 21 and 22 CP3, but those are few and far between. Booker is by far the best option on the team with the ball in his hands right now.
Can you blame him for the roster construction? Maybe I guess. He probably wanted Durant…but 2025 CP3 isn’t helping us. I’m not opposed to moving Booker, but you’re crazy if you think doing it the day after he sets the franchise record for points without warning is a good idea.

Booker can be the best option on the team with the ball in his hands but that doesn't make him a good PG.Split T wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:55 pmI’ll never get the Booker sucks at pg crowd..Booker has his warts and he has been bad in crunch time…our team sucked last year in the 4th Q too, but that was usually because Booker sat at the start of the 1st Q. It's also difficult to know how good Tyus is with the ball in his hands when all he is allowed to do is dribble up the court pass to Book or KD and stand in the corner. I'm not saying he'd be any better than Book but we've brought a PG in and asked him not to play PG which seems nonsensical.

So Devin Booker isn't good enough to win a title but he's also good enough to trade for a return that could lead to a championship?1tinsoldier wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 1:37 pmoh, and, indeed, someone would have to "imagine me calling myself a Booker hater" because i didn't, you did.

I've never meant to imply I'm a Devin Booker fan above anything else. I think I have a better understanding of how NBA player management works than a lot of people who make contradictory points like the one you just tried.
And a lot of that stuff about painted courts or whatever is textbook hating. That's a weird perspective to me.

I mean I watched Tyus struggle to bring the ball up and get us into our offense against Deni Avdija last night. Tyus is not a threat off the dribble…he’s 100% a table setter and he doesn’t put any pressure on the defense. Ya Booker sometimes struggles with double teams…but he makes the defense double him. No one is getting an advantage off ball when Tyus has it.SunsSince92 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:12 pmBooker can be the best option on the team with the ball in his hands but that doesn't make him a good PG.Split T wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:55 pmI’ll never get the Booker sucks at pg crowd..Booker has his warts and he has been bad in crunch time…our team sucked last year in the 4th Q too, but that was usually because Booker sat at the start of the 1st Q. That’s simply the reason we go to Book and KD so much. The defense has to pay more attention to them. Book has a minuscule turnover rate. He takes very good care of the ball and makes the right pass. He’s also leading the league in hockey assists right now, so he’s starting the chain that is leading to buckets. Tyus needs a screen and he needs a good role man…Richards is ok, but he’s a backup.

Re: Booker All-Time Suns Franchise Points Record Watch
there's a logical reason. I'm a 50 year NBA fan, 30 year Suns fan.
What you call "shit," i call facts/stats and reasoning in the face of PR cooked b.s..
I'm not a pom-pom waver. I post on sports forums and political forums when i see problems that need to be fixed. I took a lot of heat for being one of the first to say Igor and Monty had to go too. I did think they were good guys, though.
i also loved Barkley, and Nash & CP3 were my favorite Suns because they played team ball, smart, and unselfish. But when they no longer made sense in Phx, i was for the moves.
Re: Booker All-Time Suns Franchise Points Record Watch
It’s certainly possible. Just one unprotected first rounder could do it, you never know.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:12 pmSo Devin Booker isn't good enough to win a title but he's also good enough to trade for a return that could lead to a championship?1tinsoldier wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 1:37 pmoh, and, indeed, someone would have to "imagine me calling myself a Booker hater" because i didn't, you did.
